Timing is of the essence.

I had to wait for a cloud to appear above the center of a tree.

At first, I had to see which way the cloud was travelling, towards the right hand of the tree, or towards the left. I preferred it to travel towards the left, and fortunately the cloud did travel in the direction that I wanted. The cloud had a dancing form with that cloudy swirl around its upright stem, almost like a ballerina.
Then it was just a matter of waiting, and while I was waiting, the Egyptian goose in the shot below came over.

Oh yes, the cloud arrived above the tree and as you see, I got it spot on correct.

Then the fun started, as the cloud started to fall over and it was moving away. So, I decided after a while to follow it, and we jumped into our car.

This was the view as we left the house, and we could not see the dancing cloud yet, but I knew where to get it again.

But when we arrived at the spot that I thought it would be, you can see how it changed its shape.

Just a little cloud chasing adventure, and in any case later in the day things looked like this in the shot below. A fine mist was rolling in from the sea.

I would rather go running after clouds, than to just sit and moan about how bad things are. I have much to moan about if I wanted to. I could, for instance, moan that I am ambidextrous, meaning I have two right hands and two left hands. Not only that, but I also have critically low iron levels that plays havoc with my body. The last time that I could run, like a normal person, was in 1980, as I had a very serious bike accident. And, of course, a few other issues. But what is it worth moaning for? In my book, I just carry on stumbling through life.

There are many people that are much worse off than I am, and in our work, we meet many of them. Life is not easy for some, and others just pass away. Such as, the recent departure of my wife's beloved aunt, and she was really a blessing and a model for us to follow, having to push her husband around in a wheelchair for most of her adult life. And two other friends that also passed away a few weeks ago. I intend to live to the fullest of my abilities, if I even know what that means.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

That must have taken a lot of patience! 😊 It’s amazing how something as simple as waiting for the right cloud can make such a big difference in a photo. The timing really paid off! ☁️🌳📸
