The heatwave is slowly departing.
Not that it is gone, as it is moving into another province further inland.

A promising sight arrived with a bank of cloud at sunset.
As I said before many new heat temperature records were set on Wednesday the 11th across the Western Cape Province. They reckon that it was our hottest day, and my sweaty eye lids were sticking together whenever I blinked. It is said that sweat is good for one, as it cleanses the skin impurities, but it is really not my favorite. A running joke here was that the chickens were laying hard boiled eggs :)
A wind still day under the blazing African sun can send one into a delirium, and the warnings were out for the public to stay hydrated. Sunstroke is a serious medical issue, and one thing that I can't understand is that we saw guys walking around in sleeveless t shirts to show off their tattoos. Obviously, they don't know what UV rays are when it is rated in the danger zone.
But I digress and come and watch how the band of sunset clouds evolved.
This shot below was how it started, and I kept an eye on it.
Darker blue sunray lines started to emerge.
Just look at that as Mother nature was busy with her coloring pencils.
A closer look below at the front end of the cloud a bit later.
A darker grey cloud line also started to come in.
Here you can see more of the grey cloud.
And then the show started to close.
All that I could do was to clap my hands and shout "Encore".
I have so many times said that nature is a free gift to all of us, and it is also healthy to spend time in it. We don't look for the seen, as it is the unseen that reveals itself to us. Simply because we take a deeper look, and nature is filled with little treasures just waiting to be discovered. Just a pity that some persons steal the little things to put them on sale in other countries. I am talking about the wildlife syndicates that are slowly stripping Africa of its treasures.
Mostly it is the pangolins that are stolen, but there are many others such as tortoises, chameleons, lizards et al, even the little red ants in Kenya, as a recent newspaper carries the story that two thousand red ants were discovered in a traveller's luggage at an airport, and he was arrested. Now who would steal ants? Mindboggling isn't it. I so wish that respect for nature would be recovered, but I know that it will not be, not as long as profits can be made from it.
Such is life.
I hope that you enjoyed the pictures.

Thank God the heatwave is finally moving on, I can only imagine how uncomfortable it must have been. I love all the shots, I couldn't pick a favorite.

Yeah, heat has become a pain to me as well. Strange how things change when one gets older.
