Some weather views.
A stormy day, and we were hoping for rain, but not one drop fell.

We are in trouble here, as our dam levels continue to drop every day, and we are expecting water restrictions soon.
So, I decided to share some shots that I took during the day, amidst some strong winds. Not that I am complaining, as it is the same strong winds that bring us rain, just not on this day. I mentioned before that we are in a winter rainfall area and now in the late summer we get lucky sometimes to get a bit of rain, but not always.
The heat here has become intolerable, and they reckon that new heat records were set at about 20 different towns in the Western Cape this past week. So, yeah, the dam levels will drop because we are in a slow-moving high pressure system. Temperatures are in the 40Cs and one has to breathe in hot air, almost like we are in a desert. I have to say that at night we have trouble to sleep in the heat.
But come and have a look at the shots.
The three shots above were in the morning, and the remainder below were in the late afternoon.
I love how the late sun colored the palm tree.
And then things became a bit worse, due to the winds and that kindled a hope of rain in us.
You would agree that these looked like rain clouds.
But they were not, as it was just a quick flyover for the clouds to go and rain somewhere else over the mountain.
And then it was time for hazy sunset clouds to appear.
What a day, but we always make the best of our days, as we have seen all of these situations before. Our lives consist of hope every day, a hope rooted in us for the betterment of others. Some serious issues are at play in our country, and I am currently working on a malnutrition project for poor families and children. Same as the other non-profits, our donors have also dried up. But during the lifetime of 25 years at Papillon, we have learned to cope with all situations.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Man those clouds DEFINITELY looked like rain! I think extra summer is being delivered down there for the extra shot of winter we just received.
That was my drive home last night!
Being a charity comes with its challenges and it is amazing to see your resilient attitude having the wisdom and dedication from 25 years of work. Relief will come in the temperatures, precipitation and donors!
Oh yes, the seasons are singing their last hurray's. They will never just up and leave, and so the south apes the north weatherwise it seems.
This shot looks like that it was taken in space. Beautiful!
After 25 fires, we have learned how to climb the mountain called challenges, and we hope that your words will come true.
Thank you my friend.
