Some peaceful Sunday flowers.

Ever so slowly nature has started to greet the impending Spring season again.

I have a random collection of plants. The first one above looks like a Red-hot Poker which is part of the Aloe family. Please note that I am not a Botanist as I prefer to take photos of wildlife, but don't get me wrong as I love everything in nature, and when I see some beautiful plants, I will be sure to take shots of them, such as the ones you see in here. I know that we have some botanists here on Hive and also some succulent specialists.

It was a nice and bright early morning, and the light was ideal for photography. It sounds like I am moaning about the weather, but not so as I just speak about the things that I see. We also have many succulents here at home and some very special ones, such as the 24-hour plants, meaning that their flowers bloom overnight and the flowers only last for 24 hours. I used to know their names, but not anymore. In any case, come and see what I have to share.

I don't know what this one below is.

This one looked like a Century plant, possibly of the Agave genus.

And this looks like an Aloe Ferox plant

I know this one is an Arum Lily, maybe? :)

This one I really know as it is here at home, and it is a Christ Thorn plant (2 shots).

They come in different colors and those spikes are very dangerous, yet at times little birds land with their feet between the thorns.

Why do flowers exist? They are part of the ecosystem and so the insects and the birds get pollen on their bodies when they sit on the flowers. Pollen is essential, as the pollen that the insects and the birds collect is transferred by them to other flowers and also on to fruit tree blossoms resulting in more flowers and more fruit. Just a simple explanation.

There are many different plants, and some are medicinal ones where the leaves, seeds, flowers, roots, or bark are used for different ailments and illnesses. Then there are other kinds of plants that are popular with people to smoke the leaves, as they put a person on a high. The dead leaves of plants are good for mulching, to improve the soil content. And that is about all I can think of.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Until next time, cheers!
