Lovely late afternoon photography.

We visited our local public park, as I wanted to get some shots of the clouds on the mountains, but as it turned out, I got much more.
Come and see.

I loved the effects that a strong gust of wind played with the dust and the dogs.

You will see a range of pictures that I took of the mountains and also photos that I took in general.

It is now summer in the Southern Hemisphere and fortunately the real very high temperatures have not struck us yet. We live between the Atlantic Ocean coast and a mountain range that is surrounded by mostly wine farms.
Our weather patterns depend mostly on the wind directions and at times very strong winds can sow havoc in the province.
But enough of our weather and let me show you some nature shots.

This was when we arrived.

The approaching sunset at the west, in this picture below, we are facing the East, cast our shadows across the landscape.
064.JPG

I took a closer shot of that mountain peak that you can see at the left of the picture above.
085.JPG

A biggish bird came flying in over the mountain, and I hoped that it was an eagle.
092.JPG

But my hope was destroyed, as it was a Hadeda Ibis.
093.JPG

The sun was gradually dropping towards the horison.
096.JPG

And there's that strong gust of wind that I was talking about.

There is a song that goes, Sitting on a park bench, eyeing little girls with fancy pants, but we don't do this, as we were sitting on a park bench, waving goodbye to all that will read this post.
Incidentally, the song is called Aqualung, by Jethro Tull.

And finally, this was taken on the road back home.

So, this is our life, as due to our work, we seek to escape into the arms of Mother Nature at every opportunity that we get. Nature is a place to unwind from all of the stresses, and lately with our power cuts and the bad economy, things are gradually getting worse day by day. Almost 60% of our working population in the country is unemployed, and crime is on a high tide. So yes, the struggles are increasing, but as usual we say, A luta continua. A Portuguese saying and it means, The struggle continues.
Even if we don't know if we would be victorious, but what counts, is that we simply continue at Papillon with the battle to help those that do not have.

I hope that you enjoyed the warmth of the pictures.

Dust bath photography turned out superb! Mountains always beauty to behold no matter which direction you take in the Cape. Once solace to daily struggle is there has to be light at the end of the tunnel..., hopefully soon!

Golden sunny moments and nor the wind, or the dust bothers the energy filled mutts. That is a truth, as the Cape is laden with beautiful sights. Not yet, I think, as the real games has started and next year will be a make or break one.

Dogs high energy with no where to go to run free here has made me actually angry. So much red tape that was never here previously, yet no alternative on offer, much like the way the country is ruled.

So sad, as having to keep an energetic animal on a leash is cruel. They are much more lenient here in the doggy park and kinds of dogs come running up to us to greet us. I think they know that Marian might have a treat for them in her pocket. It is a very big park, and the dogs often jump into the river to catch a swim.

All my previous dogs thoroughly enjoyed a good run on the beach or in the park swimming in rivers or sea. Poor Woody has lost out completely due to rules imposed along with rivers and sea being full of shit, I won't put his health nor my own at risk, don't believe a word these people spew of late.

Shame, I feel so sad for you guys and dogs. as your freedom has been taken away. I just don't know why they entice visitors to them, if the sea is in such a state. Mind you, most of the municipalities in the country are in a bad state.

We hope that you guys will at least have a good Christmas!

Wow, what a beautiful sight you are presented with. I really liked the photo where the dogs are playing and the last one where there is a reflection of the sun's rays on the road.

Thank you, and I often get lost in those images. We have an abundance of beautiful nature sights here in the Cape, and as it is summer now, it is ideal times to go out there for relaxation purposes.
Glad that you liked the photography.
