I have something amazing to share...

...and so, come and let me show you how brave the birds are.
073.jpg

Mankind and wild birds were working together in a daring partnership.

The birds are Egrets, and I think that they have discovered, many years ago, that the machines working in the lands are great feeding opportunities. Birds are very intelligent, and even at dangerous odds, they will depend on their agility and speed to avoid certain death. What took place here was that the birds knew that the machine would disturb the land's surface, and they were prepared to face the odds in order to get to the insects and the worms that are unearthed during the process.
Almost like dicing with certain death, but they are brave.

A lovely and mild autumn day, as the glare of the harsh summer sun has been tamed by the fall season.

As the machine came closer, I thought that the birds would scatter and fly out of the way, but not so as you will see below.
074.JPG

Look at that. The guy at the front and the other one next to the wheel seemed to be getting out of the way, but the one at the right was a real stunt actor.
075.JPG

077.JPG

The machine was almost on top of the bird, and the blade of the machine would mean certain death, if it caught the bird.
078.JPG

At the very last moment, the bird popped out of the way.

In the meantime, the flock gathered behind the machine to feed on the disturbed surface of the land. The reason why I post in the photography-lovers community is that I am simply a photography lover. It also offers me a great opportunity to combine my photos with stories, as at times I have a wild imagination, and a dosage of humor can also work wonders. I am a member of the South African Photographic Society, and it helps a lot as some people here view a guy with a camera very suspiciously.

We are also lovers of nature, and I am forever trying to show the beauty of nature with my photos. Not only nature, as we also have the Atlantic Ocean close by, as well as a range of other interesting subjects that serve photographers very well. The good thing about this is that the variances of subjects in the posts will alleviate the same old, same old, boring routine.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

You managed to capture this amazing moment beautifully, the machine plowing the land and the egrets looking for fortune. Their courage in front of the machine deserves a thumbs up👍

Thank you, and that partnership fascinated me. To dice with death for food certainly shows up their courage. Thankfully the birds are very agile.

This is such a beautiful observation of nature's ingenuity! It's fascinating how wildlife adapts and even thrives alongside human activities. The egrets' bravery and intelligence in seizing these feeding opportunities are truly remarkable. Thank you for sharing this insightful perspective on the partnership between mankind and wild birds!

Oh yes, the partnership of the birds and mankind was great to see. The timing of the birds was spot on and the last one before the machine's blade, was the bravest of all.

Some birds really push the odds! 😂😂 I've seen it here even with sparrows and pigeons on busy roads. Gotta keep that adrenaline rush! 😉

Oh yes, many bird species have the habit of challenging the odds over here. A pity some of them mistime a lunge, and then they end up as roadkill. Adrenalin all over the place. !LOL

I’ve been told crocodiles can grow up to 15 feet
but I’ve never seen one with more than four.

I have often observed this behavior of birds when the earth is being worked with machines that dig up and bring to the surface all sorts of small creatures. I have not seen, nor did I think that egrets, which are shy waterfowl in my opinion, would be so brave to win food.

I am glad that you could also see it, and yes, the egrets over here can get up to many things. We have many egret species over here, the great egret, yellow billed egret, snowy egret, little egret, western cattle egret, and the slaty egret. They belong to the heron family.

It's bird heaven where you live. Oh, wonderful!
I know that birds from Romania also migrate to South Africa to winter, such as storks, I think.

They call it a birders paradise for photographers.
Nope, I really don't know, and I will have to check, but it might be storks.
