At first the famous Peregrine Falcon...

...and then a picture joke to get you to laugh.
030.jpg

I was so happy to at last, get the falcon taking off, and then the picture joke made my day. What is a picture joke you may ask? Wait and see in the second half of the post below.
But first let's concentrate on the falcon, as it is the record holder of the fastest diver of all the birds in the feathered kingdom across the world.

018.JPG

He was sitting on his favourite spot in a high tree searching for prey as usual and there are many high trees on the property, but he only sits on this one. An inborn habit to select the best spot with all round views, which is an ideal site to get one of the racing pigeons when they are out on a practise flight.
023.JPG

I have watched him so many times that I knew that when he changed his seating position, then he would soon fly.
035.JPG

Bang! I got him taking off even though he is very fast. A lesson for me here was that the next time I should change the camera onto the "Sports" setting, as it can capture fast movements.
032.JPG

Okay, let me show you below what I see as something to laugh about.

This Hadeda Ibis came strolling down the road at the front of our place, and I tried to get some shadow pictures. But then something eventful happened.
044.JPG

Suddenly, the bird made a U-turn, and I thought that he was on his way back from where he came from.
045.JPG

Oh my goodness! I burst out laughing so loud that the neighbours ran out to see what I was laughing at. A bit embarrassing I know, but it took place in a split second, and it was totally unexpected.
046.JPG

And then he casually walked away. Maybe he wanted to tell me by his actions what he thought about me :)
047.JPG

But what he didn't know was that Robbie was also watching him, and you can see Robbie pulling his nose up at the smell. Shame, Robbie was really not impressed. And he shouted at the Ibis to use some toilet paper the next time. Lol.
043.JPG

So, now you know what I mean with a picture joke and none of what I said was actually true as it is just my strange sense of humor. In any case, a little bit of lighthearted fun is always welcome to relieve our stresses.

Bird species names in this post.

Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus)
Hadeda Ibis (Bostrychia hagedash)
Cape Robin-chat (Cossypha caffra)

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Until next time, cheers!

Yeah! quite possible. Birdies love doing so. In my area thrushes are very used of that.
Recently I was confronted with one birdie ass too xD

Funny encounter indeed. You say it made your day?
Hope it wasnt filled with more shit, hehe.

Oh, so you also suffer the same fate with what the birds think about you xD
Yep, my day was made with the humor :)
Thankfully not, as enough was enough.

The falcon sure is beautiful and has selected his spot to see his prey more easily. Birds of prey are truly amazing and beautiful, and you caught some nice images of him before he flew off. Maybe he spotted a pigeon to snack on?

That ibis sure was disrespectful, it seems to have had an attitude! lol What pretty feathers it has though, it's a beautiful bird.

And your friend Robbie the Robin is cute too. Birds are always fun to watch, they can be very entertaining with their antics at times! Great post as always!

Yeah, I love that falcon, but the pigeon guys have a hard time when he is around. I feel so sorry for them.

The Ibis is not a likeable bird because it is very loud, and wake people up early in the mornings :)
But yeah, it has lovely feathers and colors.

Robbie gives us regular laughs with his antics, and I am glad that you liked the post.
