A battle to get the full moon...
...as we had heavy clouds covering the sky, and I decided to show you something else.
Oh yes, a daytime moon on show in here.
Incidentally, I did get the full moon, but I am waiting for my wife to upload a video that I made to show you the speed of the clouds travelling across the face of the full moon. I will do a post that will include the video soon. The shots in this post today were taken on the 7th of July, and the full moon took place on the 10th of July. The weather is topsy turvy, and one just has to go with the flow.
Now to get to this post today, it was also troubled by cloud, and I had to take what I could get. I live a life of acceptance, as it makes it so much easier to condone whatever comes my way, both good and bad. In the case of the moon in the post, even if it didn't appear and was clouded over, it would also not have mattered to me. A sort of to take with the one hand, and to give with the other hand.
The small dot at the bottom of the photo was the moon, and look at the size of the cloud that was coming down on it,
I took a closer shot to show you the moon below the cloud. And then I had to wait for the moon to reappear above the cloud.
Right! finally the moon reappeared above the cloud into a wide blue open space.
A closer shot of the one above.
Another piece of cloud tried to grab it, but the wind blew the cloud away.
And finally, the moon was free for a while.
Now if you can understand that I dearly wanted to get the full moon like this, then you would also understand how disappointed I was when the full moon day was a cloudy day. No small clouds, and a fierce wind was blowing just to make things more difficult, as the clouds on the day also brought along some rain. It has been raining ever since, as yet another cold front has landed in the Cape.
When bad weather arrived up north in the country, everyone always blamed the Cape for the weather conditions, and now that we live in the Cape, we can understand why. We are at the extreme southern tip of the African continent, right next to the wild Atlantic Ocean. In the days of the old sailing ships, many were sunk by the storms here, and still nowadays some ships get into trouble, due to the strong wind gusts.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Come get MOONed!
Wow you must be sending the heat up here because cold fronts seem to be a distant winter memory now. I thought it was a neat shot before I saw the pic of how close you zoomed in to get it. That is one distinct advantage of real cameras over phones. I can't zoom to anywhere close to that and not have the resolution destroyed.
Ah the full moon. Same one we have all been watching our whole lives!
