Today I want to share with you a walk along an empty white sandy beach with turquoise waters ~ Achmelvich Beach, Lairg, United Kingdom which is located in the #HIGHLANDS of #SCOTLAND 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
This is one of our first #explorations out, to #discover our new area, where we live since end of January. 😊😎

Today’s selection will be of 10 photographs, where I take you along on a walk on the beach and through the dunes and grasses…
Date: 27 January 2023.
The Photographs in this post are all taken with my iPhone 📱🤓 the ones taken with my CANON camera walking much further I show you another day 😉

I will follow the time stamps on my photographs. So it looks like you are walking along with me on this #walk around the #beach, to 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 #discover everything, like the little #details seen through my eyes. 😊

It’s the north of the west coast of Scotland as you can see on Google maps in these 2 screenshots.

Let’s start our WALK now:

There are 2 beaches, I approach from in between and see on the right:

A small secluded beach you access walking over the rocks and jumping down.

And on the left:

A much larger wide beach, also empty… no people 😁

They look even great in the #winter. Especially without any #tourists 😉🤓
Nobody around just us and the white sands… the turquoise waters, the wind and just nothing ness 😎

We leave of course some #footprints 👣 let’s capture one step 🤓
I can imagine in the #summer… the soft and cool sand between my toes 😉 the cold water… yep, nice ☺️

Let’s look at the waves 🌊
Today is a calm day and luckily dry…

I love the smell of the sea 🌊 the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach and rocks.
It’s so #peaceful 🥰 even #calming…

Let’s stay for a while and enjoy… being here.

I did take many photos with my big camera and will show more at a later day. Haven’t got the time at the moment to edit them or even upload all of them. 🤓
Soon… I promise 🤞🏻I will share it all with you.

We decide to walk back through the #dunes, the wind picked up as you can see on the grasses… blowing us forward along some #paths.

The colours are beautiful this day, don’t you think?

Looking towards the left to the path we took in between the beaches. The animals we encountered I show you later. 😉

I enjoyed walking over this empty sand beach, it was so peaceful just us… hope you enjoyed this moment as much as I did. Until soon…

What an incredible location. I’ve seen photos of this part of Scotland before but have never been. It’s high on the list. I keep saying to my wife that we should take a trip up to Scotland but where do we choose to start with?

It is and I am happy we drove to it. It’s magical… especially this time of the year.
Maybe you should 🤓😉 I understand what you mean, we have the same… where do we go next to explore as literally every corner is stunning. Waterfalls at 10 minute drive… mountains and lochs everywhere. Beaches… so much… beauty, where to start. Hehehe 🤭

Those grasses on the dunes had a special golden colour in the lights that day. Cool it looks like that at yours.

I know… truly nobody was there… can you imagine a beach like that. Love it. Been already twice hahaha 🤣
It sure is one big adventure at the moment and soon more to come 😉😎

I haven’t found the oil yet to test it after filling, as we had visitors for just over 1 week. And I didn’t unpack further. As hubby was working and his mom and husband needed a break. So I went with them out everyday.
I’m still hoping all is fine 🍀

What a great place for a walk - the beaches are lovely up that way. I've always wanted to see the Hermit's castle which is shown on your map. Its quite an interesting structure (although its not a castle). I'm sure you can go and post about it on another day !

Thanks a lot @hoosie 👋🏻😊 the beach there is stunning. Been already 2 times. 😉
But not to hermits castle. I know about it. First time it was on the list to do, but it was so cold and windy. We decided not to climb up there.
Second time I was showing visitors around. And we had a few more stops before the sunlight would go. Next time I go and visit it 😎

It was extremely windy and cold that day. I can imagine the beach in the summer days. The colours must be even more turquoise then.

Wow, really beautiful natural surroundings... seems like it might be a remote enough location that it wouldn't get all that crowded, even during the summer.

Maybe it doesn’t get too crowded, but it is on the NC500 what is a popular route in the summer for the tourists.
The drive to it is very… let’s say interesting. One small lane, bumpy lane… lots of corners and steep paths. Here and there a passing lane if you encounter a car from the other direction. It’s a cool drive.
The nature is stunning up here.

And indeed you were on a beach as well! This is awesome😄👏! I do agree with you, it is so special when you can enjoy your time on a beach and there is no other living soul in sight! Just you and the ocean! Such calmness. Such a great time for self-reflection and just to calm your mind!

The beaches are beautiful and I love the color of the water.

I did @jacoalberts 👋🏻😊 it’s so special that there was truly nobody there… just wow. We loved it so much. Although it was very windy and cold. It was beautiful.
It did calm the mind, so peaceful. You could just be.

I can imagine when the sun would hit the white sand and the turquoise waters… it would be spectacular 🤩 maybe I see it one day when I visit again.

Wow! It felt like you had your own paradise, no people around just you and your hubby, how romantic!
I love the sound of the waves too and the white sand wow epic, just epic! I think this spot is a perfect hangout in a clear night sky with the moon and the stars displaying its ethereal and celestial beauty.

It was epic! Loved every second of it.
