Queen's Flower: so flowery, so fruitful
It is purple-pink. Seeing how the Lagerstroemia speciosa flowers decorate the garden, this name doesn't seem wrong. The purple-pink is indeed elegant, giving off an imperial aura.
According to Wikipedia, this plant originates from India, and is widely grown in Southeast Asia as an ornamental plant. The quality of the wood is second only to teak. In the Philippines, it is called Banaba and is a type of herbal plant. In Indonesia it is called Bungur, and these are pictures I took from a park in Aceh.
What attracted me to these wrinkled paper-like textured flowers, apart from their beauty, was that this plant looked so flowery and so fruitful. Like showing a strong enthusiasm to beautify the surroundings.
