Adventure on the Pinnacles Ridge Track | Wellington Hike π³πΏ

As mentioned in my previous post, here are the photos of my Putangirua Pinnacle walk in Wellington. The weather wasn't great, but it held up from pouring rain for us to enjoy the walk.

Did I say enjoy the walk? That was a difficult walk!
Very steep, but yes, I enjoyed it as it was much need for.

Pinnacles track walk is a 1.5km one way, and it takes 45 minutes one way.
The track involves walking and tramping so watching your step is very important to avoid injury.

Here we stop for a view of the ocean, and to photograph the moment β¨οΈ

I saw these stairs from a distance and said; "what the fuck, will this track ever end!"
At this stage I was breathing heavily and my legs could barely support me. π

The view of the pinnacles ridge pillars began to emerge π

And we reached the Lookout point, what a reward!

These dramatic earth pillar formations are so dramatically beautiful, they are similar to the Clay Cliffs walk that I did in Omarama in the South Island, so getting to do another earth formation walk in the North Island for me was cool π
That 1.5 km each way sounds short on paper, but those endless stairs hit like a leg day you didnβt plan for, and and your line had me laughing π . Reaching the LOokout feels like the perfect payoff, I could almost feel that ocean breeze through your words. The Clay Cliffs comparison helped me picture the vibe without overthinking it. Saving this spot for a future trip, dont think Iβll underestimate it :)
True, 1.5km is just a short walk but not on a steep track.
Lookouts are always rewarding for walks like this. It was cloudy but cool weather, the breeze was gentle which was refreshing as I sweat π.
You will love it, do it when you're in Wellington, it is about 1 hours 40mins drive from Wellington.
