I seem to have fallen back into the hands of my macro photography hobby, so I'm sure I'll be able to share with you a lot of macro photos during the weeks to come..... Also, the rains have started here and that increases a lot the amount of elements ideal for macro photography.

Me parece que he vuelto a caer en las manos de mi afición por las macro fotografías, así que muy seguro que pueda compartir con ustedes un montón de fotos de este tipo durante las semanas por venir.... Además, aquí han comenzado las lluvias y eso incrementa mucho la cantidad de elementos ideales para hacer macros.

I took these photos last Tuesday, I seem to remember that around 3 PM the heat was extreme and the humidity too, so I decided to take my camera and put my macro lens on it.... I don't know the reason, but at the time I thought about going out and doing macros exclusively with natural light and using very wide focal apertures.

Hice estas fotos el pasado martes, creo recordar que cerca de las 3 PM el calor era extremo y la humedad también, así que decidí tomar mi cámara y colocar en ella mi objetivo para macros... No sé la razón, pero en ese momento pensé en salir y hacer macros exclusivamente con luz natural y usando aperturas focales muy amplias.

As is my custom, I did not use a tripod. But the good brightness helped me a lot to have relatively high shutter speeds. Also, after a couple of weeks of doing some macro photography, I seem to be recovering my ability to cut my breathing while focusing, which helps me a lot to avoid shaky pictures (although it might also make me faint at some point due to lack of oxygen) 😂

Como es mi costumbre, no usé trípode. Pero la buena luminosidad me ayudó mucho a tener velocidades de obturación relativamente altas. Además, después de un par de semanas haciendo algunas macro fotografías, me parece que ya estoy recuperando mi habilidad para cortar mi respiración mientras enfoco, eso me ayuda bastante a evitar trepidaciones en las fotos (aunque quizás también haga que en algún momento me desmaye debido a la falta de oxigeno) 😂

As soon as I took a couple of pictures and reviewed them on the camera screen, the word "abstract" came to my mind and I knew I would have a pretty fun time ahead of me.

Apenas hice un par de fotos y las revisé en la pantalla de la cámara, la palabra "abstracto" se me vino a la mente y supe que tendría por delante un lapso de tiempo bastante divertido.

At focal apertures between f/7.1 and f/5 everything in macro photos seems to take on a drama where the abstract and the artistic hybridise quite easily. And this happens even more clearly when shooting natural elements.

Con aperturas focales entre f/7.1 y f/5 todo en las fotos macro parece adquirir un drama en donde se hibridan lo abstracto y lo artístico con bastante facilidad. Y esto sucede aún más claramente cuando se hacen fotos en elementos naturales.

Shapes then begin to lose relevance and precision is restricted to a few areas of the visual plane that comes through the viewfinder. It is as if some kind of "instinct" forces us to exploit the subjective character of what we are observing. There is something of a "creativity from what is observed" when taking macro photographs in this way.

Entonces las formas comienzan a perder relevancia y la precisión queda restringida a escasas áreas del plano visual que nos llega a través del visor. Es como si algún tipo de "instinto" nos obligase a explotar el carácter subjetivo de aquello que estamos observando. Hay algo de "creatividad a partir de lo se observa" cuando se hacen macros fotografías de esta manera.

I don't know how to explain it at all, but I have to confess that I enjoy this "spartan" way of taking these pictures and exploring my visual instincts through this. With each centimetre of approach to what I decide to photograph, I observe how a photo is "born" in the viewfinder whose character makes it quite unique, elementary, sometimes minimalist... Something that I know I will need very soon after to be ready to share, but at the same time something that I discovered and that perhaps others would overlook.

No sé como explicarlo del todo, pero tengo que confesar que yo disfruto esta manera digamos "espartana" de hacer estas fotos y explayarme en mis instintos visuales a través de esto. Con cada centímetro de acercamiento a aquello que decido fotografiar, voy observando como "nace" en el visor una foto cuya carácter la hace bastante única, elemental, a veces minimalista... Algo que sé necesitará muy poco después para estar lista y compartir, pero al mismo tiempo algo que yo descubrí y que quizás otros dejarían pasar por alto.

In fact, I find taking these kinds of photographs so inspiring that, as I edit and construct this publication, I notice that the tone of what I am writing changes noticeably and migrates from a relatively "technical" initial stage to a text where the writing is more in line with these photos. A text in which I let a glimpse of the poetic and reflective sense that awakens in me when I take these photos and look at them afterwards.

De hecho, hacer este tipo de fotografías me resulta tan inspirador que, mientras edito y construyo esta publicación, noto que la tónica de lo que estoy escribiendo cambia sensiblemente y va migrando desde una etapa inicial relativamente "técnica" hacia un texto en donde lo escrito es más acorde con estas fotos. Un texto en donde dejo entrever un poco el sentido poético y reflexivo que despierta en mí cuando hago estas fotos y las miro posteriormente.
