"FARMLANDS IN THE TOWN'S SOUTH-EAST" - Rural photography in Montalbán, Venezuela

In the southeast of my town we have large areas suitable for farmland in which the rural landscape becomes beautiful and worth to be there taking pictures especially during the mornings when the mist advances over the ploughed land and its other interesting corners...

These lands belong to a handful of fairly small landowners. Formerly the whole plain was part of a single large estate owned by one of the oldest families in our village, but in the 1960s and 1970s large portions of it were sold off and the present owners are descended from those first purchasers. Around this land the "urban pressure" is enormous and some parts near its margins have been affected by illegal invasions and the like.

The proximity of the urban borders has resulted in the crops and structures built on these lands being the target of continuous theft by unscrupulous people who penetrate the fences and proceed to commit their misdeeds here. This obviously disturbs the agricultural producers and negatively affects their work and the economic yield of their work. Because of this unfortunate problem, access to this land is not as easy as to other places in my village. In fact, to take these photos I had to have the approval of one of the landowners (a friend of my eldest son, by the way) and the fact that he has alerted the groups of security guards they have hired to prevent thefts... It would be silly of me to enter this place in the middle of the fog, surely someone would end up shooting me!... What a crazy way to die with a camera hanging around my neck in the middle of the fog!... Lots of drama as it happens in all my stuff! hahaha :))

Beyond all these inconveniences for access to these lands, I have to say that I really enjoyed my time taking photographs in there. The weather in the morning was cool and a dense fog settled over the whole valley of the arable lands... That's lucky indeed!... The photos were taken using my small 50 mm fixed lens, which is one of my favourites for challenging light conditions as often posed by foggy outdoor photography. My camera was in semi-automatic aperture priority (P) mode at all times and the capture process was based on a constant adjustment of focal apertures and ISO, always depending on the characteristics of the selected photographic plane. The possibilities here are many, you can take pictures of roads, cultivated fields and bodies of water among other things.

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... Hello friend @jlinaresp I am surprised by the explanation you give about the guards who could shoot you, taking you for a thief. People with bad intentions are everywhere and want to live at the expense of the work of others. In my country there are also plenty of thieves.
I noticed that there was fog in a lot of photos, was it due to the mountains or the season?

:) Would that be something sadly funny?... The photographer has been shot!... he he he he! :))... Fortunately I am cautious and do not enter these places without notifying the owners!...

Yes, in my town we have cloudy sunrises all year round, and I estimate that there are at least 100 foggy mornings annually, maybe more...

This happens due to the characteristics of the valley where Montalbán town is located, it is a high valley (660 meters above sea level) surrounded by a horseshoe-shaped mountain range that extends from the south east to the northeast whose peaks reach up to 1800 meters above sea level. Then, from the east during many mornings at year, dense low clouds penetrate forming fog here, these clouds come from the evaporation of an inland lake located about 40 km away called "Lake of Valencia" and from other areas of dense vegetation, water reservoirs and rivers which increase the local humidity levels... Since colonial times this valley had lots of fog. In fact, the name "Montalbán" means "White Mountains" and the colonizers gave it to them due to this recurring phenomenon...

Thank you very much for visiting and appreciating!... Sending hugs!

Gracias por tu explicación muy clara. En mi casa tenemos niebla de septiembre a febrero y, a veces, durante semanas enteras. Enloquece a ciertas personas por la falta de luz que se ven obligadas a trasladarse a otra región de Francia donde hay menos.

Hello friend @castleberry !!!... It's good to hear from you! :)...
Thank you very much for your appreciation!!!... Well yes, "The fog transforms everything" and a photograph which could be quite normal, becomes something "visually dramatic" when it's full of fog!... I'm lucky to have many foggy sunrises per year here in my town!...

Greetings and a hug for you!
