Well, I have to confess that the story of this post begins when I decided to dedicate some time this Sunday morning to cleaning up my RAW image files. Then, in the middle of the process, I realized I had a few unpublished photos of cats I'd taken in the streets of town. So, without further ado, I started processing and editing the ones I found most beautiful. And I have to say I really enjoyed doing this, as some of the photos date back to July of last year, which isn't something I usually do, since I'm the type of person who prefers to work with my most recent photographic material. Also, while working with this dozen photos, there were moments when I felt a bit nostalgic and a little sad, because this is such a small town that you can even see the same cats walking down certain streets every day. But while making today's selection, I realized there are some cats I haven't seen recently, even though I frequently walk down the streets where they used to be. I truly hope they're all doing well, because cats are an important part of life here (and I suppose everywhere) and also because they're one of the living beings I love photographing the most... Bien, tengo que confesar que la historia de este post comienza cuando quise dedicar algo de tiempo de la mañana de hoy Domingo, a hacer algo de "limpieza" en mis archivos de imágenes RAW. Entonces, en medio del proceso, me percaté de que habían allí unas cuantas fotografías inéditas de gatos hechas por mi en las calles del pueblo. Así que, ni corto ni perezoso, me puse a procesar y editar aquellas que me parecieron más lindas. Y tengo que decir que me gustó mucho hacer esto, pues hay fotos aquí desde Julio del pasado año, cosa la cual no es muy común que yo haga, pues soy del tipo de persona que prefiere trabajar sobre su material fotográfico más reciente. También, haciendo este trabajo con esta docena de fotos, hubo momentos en los que sentí algo de añoranza y un poco de tristeza, pues este es un pueblo tan pequeño que, incluso es factible encontrarlos mismos gatos cuando se camina por determinadas calles día a día. Pero al hacer esta selección de hoy, me he percatado que hay algunos gatos a los cuales no he vuelto a ver recientemente, aunque paso con frecuencia por las calles en donde solían estar. De verdad que espero que todos ellos estén bien, porque los gatos son parte importante de la vida aquí (y supongo que en todas partes) y también porque son uno de los seres vivos que más amo fotografiar... Pero, por favor, continúen adelante en este post y disfruten de esta "Gato-serie fotográfica" para ustedes aquí en #Hive... 😺📷

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7

NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape v3.7

Jajaja lo de Gato-serie fotográfica me hizo reír bastante, es lo que es, claro, pero siempre es curiosos de humanizar a los animales. A veces pienso en eso al momento de intentar fotografiar a alguno, es que, ¿se aplica un primer plano a una mascota? recuerdo que un profesor de fotografía me decía que no…pero.. en circunstancias reales, uno lo hace ¿no? imposible no pensar en eso mientras se intenta captar una pose. Que hablando de poses, los gatos no son fácil ¿no crees? animalejos pa’ inquietos. Están preciosas las fotos, la 6ta me gustó mucho.

Lo de hacer limpieza de archivos….bueno, admiro que fotos de hace tan solo un año sea mucho para ti jajaja a veces tengo pesadillas con tanta cosa pendiente. Pero imagino que al ser tu estilo de vida y trabajo, hay que ser constante y responsable. Buen rescate de bonitos recuerdos. También espero que todos los gatitos estén bien.

Awww... Gracias por este comentario @ninaeatsher 😃👍... Bueno, yo de fotografía sé bastante poco, pero de gatos (y perros, y animales en general) sí que te puedo decir que "algo cambia en uno cuando se mira directamente a un gato a los ojos" (tengo 7 gatos en casa, por cierto 😸, ellos me "han secuestrado")... Son como esos "gurúes" Advaita que, se sientan allí y sin hablar, solo con mirarte (o a veces con "no mirarte") te dicen mucho... Yo "procuro que posen" hablándoles mientras los apunto con mi lente y usualmente me agacho o me siento en la calle misma; hasta ahora me ha resultado bastante bien. Ciertamente los hay de todo tipo, algunos huyen al primer intento, pero la mayoría de las veces "un humano hablándoles con algo puesto en frente del rostro y sentado en el piso" parece hacerlos compadecer y se dignan a hacer alguna buena pose... 😂 Saludos, gracias de nuevo y feliz semana!!!

I think you get the idea, at least a little bit, of just how much I’ve enjoyed this post; just hearing the word “cats” was enough to make me rush over to take a look. They’re all cuter than the next, though I have a favorite: the kitten with the blue eye, or eyes. These cats are known as “sarco,” and it can happen that the ear on the side of the blue eye doesn’t hear well and is deaf. Nature is very strange sometimes.

I also hope that all the cats you don’t see regularly are doing well, and if not, that they aren’t suffering. They all have a special look, very tender, but they also recognize you, so the closeness in the photos is beautiful; their eyes say it all. Thank you for this wonderful work; they’re all beautiful photos! Big hugs!🤗

Creo que te haces una idea, al menos una pequeña idea, de lo mucho que he disfrutado con esta publicación; con solo mencionar la palabra «gatos» ya me bastó para correr a echar un vistazo. Todos son más monos unos que otros, aunque tengo un favorito: el gatito con el ojo o los ojos azules. A estos gatos se les conoce como «sarco», y puede ocurrir que la oreja del lado del ojo azul no oiga bien y sea sorda. La naturaleza es muy extraña a veces.

También espero que todos los que no ves ahora regularmente estén bien y de lo contrario, que no sufran. Todos tienen una mirada especial, muy tierna pero además te conocen por lo que la cercanía para tomar la foto es muy hermosa, sus ojos lo dicen. Gracias por este gran trabajo, son todas fotografías preciosas! Un gran abrazo!🤗

Well, I certainly sense that someone with your kind of spirit must really enjoy looking at cats, dear friend @avdesing! They are fantastic animals, although I know that all animals have something to tell us; it's undeniable that cats have that "special something" that connects with us in a way that transcends the physical... I knew that the mutation of having two different colored eyes was called "heterochromia," but I didn't know that when it occurs in cats they are called "sarco", thank you for that information. They are truly fascinating when they are like that, and here they are common, and I try to photograph them when I see them because it always seems to me like seeing "two cats in one" 😂😺... Goodness, I'm already sounding like a crazy person! hahaha... Bien, indudablemente intuyo que alguien con tu calidad de espíritu ha de disfrutar un montón mirando gatos estimada amiga @avdesing!... Son animales fantásticos, aunque sé que en realidad todos los animales tienen algo que decirnos a cada quien; es indudable que los gatos tienen ese "algo especial" que conecta con nosotros de manera que trasciendo lo físico... Sabía que esa mutación de tener ojos de dos colores se llamaba "heterocromía", pero desconocía que cuando se presenta en gatos les llaman "sarco" a estos, gracias por esa información. La verdad son fascinantes cuando son así, y aquí son frecuentes y procuro fotografiarlos cuando los veo porque siempre se me antoja que son como ver "dos gatos en uno" 😂😺... ¡Cielos, ya estoy sonando como un loco! hahaha... Aww, excellent choices!... #4 belongs to my neighbor, and it seems she loves spying on me from her rooftop when I get home! 🤣... And #3 is a cat who seems to be "working as a window watchman" because he's always there (although he's usually sleeping or yawning, so he can't be very good at his job 😹)...
