Candid Photos of my Best friend's wedding 👰✨

I never imagined this day would come. Getting married at our age is already the right time, especially since we are no longer getting younger.

I was taken aback when I received a message from one of my high school best friend informing me that she was getting married unexpectedly and that she wanted me to be her maid of honor. I mean, I never heard her drop hints about what she and her boyfriend are up to. But, I suppose, it happens. We won't be prepared for everything.

Of course, I was overjoyed that my best friend was about to become a wife and mother; who wouldn't be? As her best friend, whatever makes her happy makes me happy as well. I gladly accepted her invitation and was honored to be her maid of honor at her wedding.

Wedding day, Tuesday, February 28, 2023. This is the location and the venue where they will take their vows. Socorro Beach Resort is the name of this beautiful resort. Can be found at Sabang, Danao City Cebu (North Cebu).

Call time was 8AM PH time, and as always, I was the first one to arrive. I went home last night from the city and took 1 day off from work for this special day. The resort has 2 swimming pools. Rooms and a great venue for special events hence the bride and groom chose this place.

My bestie, Josalyn Gimena, the bride which is now Mrs. Illagan. We became friends at the start of my high school years. She was one of the smartest students in the class. She enjoys math, while I dislike it; perhaps this is why we connect. Lol. She is a Christian, and I am a Catholic. We respected each other's beliefs, which makes me love her even more.

She was one of the unexpected people who came into my life and became a part of it. We both attended the same college after graduating from high school. But, after becoming concerned about the course I had chosen, I decided to change my mind and transfer to a different school. Being apart from her was one of the most difficult decisions I had to make. We are both aware that we have reached a point in our lives where we must be firm in our decisions and plan for the future.

College was a long way away from high school. We seemed to be having a good time in high school, not caring about anything and being carefree. Basically, we were having a good time as teenagers. During college, I have to work my tail off to cover all of my expenses. I have to work part-time so that I can pay for my daily expenses. Aside from the terror professors, the requirements were not sweet. Regardless, we both remained each other's strength and comfort in the midst of the difficult and challenging exams, especially finals. On those days, the only thing that made us happy was getting a passing grade.

We had both made new friends. During college, we both had close friends. But, at the end of the day, we ended up chatting like nothing had happened. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had a friend like her.

I was so happy to see her happy, getting excited about pre-nuptial photos. This is what I enjoy about candid photography; each one has a special meaning for me. Capturing authentic and raw photos is what gives photography value.

This is also one of the reason why I do not include my self in most of my candid photos. I don't want to be part of the portrait but I like to add a value to it.
