Blue and fragranced

avatar

I'm not personally blue, I'd like to make that clear...but sometimes I smell like it...this cologne I mean, BLV by BVLGARI...it's pretty good, or so my girl-human tells me, and a few others have said the same too. If you were to nuzzle up into my neck you might get a sense of what it smells like on me, but that might be very weird so if you're interested maybe head down to your local store and give it a sniff there.

Anyway, I had some time to kill the other day and decided to see if I could get some decent shots of the bottle of cologne in my light box; what you see in this post is what I managed to get...not great, but good enough to represent in one of my posts I suppose.

So there you have it...some BLV photography taken within my light box. While I was at it I grabbed a few snaps of one of my other fragrances as well and I think both turned out ok considering my lack of photography skill and decent equipment.

If you've got any comments you know where to leave them.

You might like to mention one of my snaps you like, which one you hate, how I fucked them all up or whatever. If you're a girl, maybe you'll tell me about your favourite fragrance on a man or the one you like on yourself and if you're a fellow...well, you can do the same I guess. Whatever you like I suppose, the comments section is yours to use as you like. Below is for leaving comments and you know I'll get back to you so go ahead if you want to.

My preference is the second pic of them all. They are all good though. I like whatever the wife buys for me to put on.😀

Remember Old Spice man? I recall, at about the age of ten, scraping one of my dad's razors over my face and splashing on about half a gallon of the stuff right afterward. It didn't go well. Also, Brut 33 and Blue Stratos. Lol, back in the day.

Holy shit...I was just thinking about Old Spice when reading this. Too funny. I remember Brut as well. Yeah, that first time shaving and slapping aftershave on never went well for any of us I think.

It's a right of passage, the old, shave then scream in pain thing.

Hahaha Old Spice? To this day, can't handle the smell. That and do you remember Aramis? Fuck, I'm totally giving away my age here 🙄

Yeah, it's hideous, but that's what my dad had and so I splashed it on. I smelled old and spicy for days. Aramis, yeah I remember that one. You must be 153 years old!

Hahaha smelling like that for days is possibly worse than the pain you felt when you put it on. Fuck's sake - how did you guess?

I won't be surprised if the brand sees this and invites you for their product photography, I can tell it smells great because of your high-quality taste for things.

At a time BOLD was my favourite perfume until I came across RIGGS, I couldn't resist. The shots are cool and my favourite is the fourth one...

Bold and Riggs are not ones I'm familiar with but I looked them up and they're available here, just not one's I've smelled at any stage, as far as I'm aware anyway.

I'm not sure if BVLGARI will be calling me anytime soon, maybe they'll call some asshole who steals my images without my knowledge instead?

It would be a terrible thing for them not to check properly the credibility of a photographer before calling them up.

How ingenious .... gives me ideas! I always have ideas and most of them are inspired by others.

Very nice shots, 2, 5 and the last one! They look like pictures for a fragrance advertisement, they're great!

In my case I don't have a specific one, the sweet, fruity fragrances, but I also vary, let's see right now I have one that I love that is roses, the one I like the most of the perfumes I have.

I used to get a melon one, I know it sounds strange but I loved it!

Men's fragrances fascinate me, a good perfume is very nice, which makes it very masculine!

Ahhh the women's fragrances that I don't like at all are those strong ones, like one called 7 Brujas. That one is really ugly, someone gave it to me for a birthday many years ago and I didn't wear it because it was so horrible... who wears that!

Ingenious? I'll take that compliment. 😁

I like a woman to smell good and a little perfume is nice, not too much though, some overdo it. I like several but have always like that Thierry Mugler one called, Angel on women. It always gets my attention.

There's some terrible ones out there though and if a person (man or woman) puts too much on it can be quite overpowering. One should be seen before smelled.

That must be a delicious perfume!

If it's true, it's too much... it smells bad hahaha, there are both men and women who put on the whole perfume hahahaha

Yes, you are very creative .... and that's great!

My brain is liquefying here, 40 degrees....

Nice shots! That is a pretty cool bottle. Cologne and perfume has always confused me. I don't understand how it is so expensive. The stuff that my wife wears costs almost as much as a car payment. Luckily she only needs it like once a year. I had a cologne that I really liked and then when I met my wife she said I couldn't wear it anymore because that is what her brother wears. It was too creepy for her :) I occasionally throw some Tommy on now and she enjoys that.

I guess it's something to do with the ingredients. I once went to a perfumery in France called Fragonard, quite famous, and did a tour. It was very interesting and gave me more of an appreciation of how it's all done. I'm not sure if they're all created in that way, but if they are then it sort of warrants the cost.

I don't blame your wife for asking you to switch fragrances, a good reason for it. I wear a Hugo Boss one mainly, and have a couple others (one pictured) which I don't wear that often and I also wear Ralph Lauren Polo Sport also - A bit old-school but my partner likes it.

Yeah, I get it, but it still sucks because I really like the way it smells. I used to know a girl who wore Red. I loved he way that smelled, but I wouldn't dare ask my wife to start wearing it :) She wears Romance and that stuff is pretty decent. I get what you are saying about the tour. I am sure a lot goes into making them. It's still a kick in the nut when you go to buy a bottle though!

I remember that one...hmm, best not to ask Mrs. Bozz to wear it though. Lol.

The fourth and eighth photos seem to me to be very good shots, a little different from the usual but well taken, the one I didn't like very much was the 7th photo, but in general they are all good.

I sometimes dab a little cooked bacon on my neck...everyone loves the bacon and eggs scent right? Ok, not really, it only happens when I spill my breakfast on my shirt.

Thanks, I think these came out ok, certainly for a person with my limited ability.

Well, that's a nice shot!! Your Skills are much better, and I think you're the good photographers. I believe everyone has its own choice of perfume, it looks so much expensive, but I might try to check it out. I think ladies like men that smell nice and cool!

These are lovely photos, I like this colour blue. I do however suggest (even though I know you hate unsolicited advice - follow this!) that you don't let any of the presidents hear you asking if people want to sniff you...it could be far more uncomfortable for you than you might think 🤣

I generally only let the sniffer dogs at the airport sniff me, none have commented on my aftershave yet however. #hardtoplease

I'm not sure about the photography, but now that I've seen the bottle up, down, sideways and in every other direction, I feel I know it intimately and may be developing an unnatural attachment to it.

😄

I have a perfume named BLUE that is one of my favs.

20230719_153817.jpg

My Blue says hello to yours. (never mind the quality of the quick snap photography)

I feel sure it would smell better with a nuzzle than a sniff at the department store. LOLOLOL !!! I made my self laugh typing that.

It's an attractive bottle right? I often wonder how much the bottle contributes to the cost of the actual product as some of them are very elaborate. I can't help but see it as somewhat wasteful but that's how it is I guess.

So, you have a Blue? Now I wonder what your blue smells like. You're probably right about the department store sniff over the neck-nuzzle sniff I think, the latter is probably preferable. Maybe department store neck-nuzzle model would be a good career? I wonder what it pays?

I'm sure the bottling on some are very costly, but then, it's part of the brand that you could easily recognize in the vast displays of perfumes and colognes. Also if you one were shopping for a new scent, the bottle needs to say "pick me up and try me"..... I'm sure that has a lot to do with their elaborateness.

It would be a good career part of the time at least I am sure, but since you can't discriminate some of the "old girls" would be wanting a sniff for sure and would probably pass through frequently. LOL.... taking the good with the bad.

but if it paid enough......

Maybe you could send that advertising suggestion to some of those high-end companies and see who starts doing it first.

You're right, it's about capturing people's interest and inspiring them. That's why the commercials look the way they do. People fall for marketing all the time.

Hmm, I was thinking of starting a company to provide staff to department stores for the purpose of neck-sniffing. We, in the biz, call those that do it sniffologists, although they often refer to themselves as neckers. A necker doesn't make much money really, the agency gets the big bucks which is why I'm starting a company. It's not a bad job, but there's hazards, and you mention one...all those old ladies that smell like mothballs and Crown Mints who come along for a sniff and keep circling for more. Still, who wouldn't want to be a necker for $1 an hour! I'll charge the department store $30. 😉 #brilliantbusinessidea

You make something so simple look so great, I personally loved the pictures.

As for fragrances, I like mine, Amor Amor, it's sweet. I very rarely try to smell new fragrances to see if I like them. In general, perfumes give me a headache, so I use them sparingly.

I have a friend who recently started using a fragrance, it suits him very well but I don't know the name.

I once gave one to my nephew and I told the seller to help me in the selection, it was very good, my nephew loved it and me too, I don't remember the name either, I'm bad at remembering those things, what I won't forget are these pictures.

I think these scents should be used sparingly although people use far too much mostly and it can be overpowering. I'd rather not be smelled before I'm seen, you know?

I like it when I walk past a woman and get a faint hint if her perfume (if it's a good one that I like). It's nice. When I get hit in the face by it twenty metres before I'm beside her though...not so good.

Thanks for taking a look at my photos and sharing a little about your own favourite.

Hello, it's me. That I write in the comments as if time doesn't pass 😅.
You're going to say it's a lie but I was curious about that. When I pass by a perfumery I will know. For men I like Issey Miyake perfume.
For me, I like florals, specifically halloween although lately I've been leaning more towards splash. I don't bathe in perfume like I used to. The very strong ones give me a headache

Florals are always nice I think, feminine, and using fragrances sparingly is preferred also, otherwise it can be too overpowering.

Let me know if you manage to get a sniff of BLV, whether you like it or not.

Been a while since you've been around. Busy?

I don't personally care to wear scents, BLV or otherwise. Many perfumes, especially those mixed in with cleaning products and laundry detergents, give me a splitting headache. Same for the cheap perfumes chosen by many teenage girls and old ladies who marinate in the stuff before visiting the library.

Haha, I know right? People splash it on like it's the last they will ever wear and they need to get enough to last their entire life. There's a few that give me a headache almost instantly, I don't know the names but when I get a whiff on the street it's like that stench lingers in my nose. Not good. Being in the library though, you're a captive audience.
