Which One And Why?

Life is funny. It's still autumn, but we're nearing towards the end of it and although we still have a great variety of colors on trees and on the ground, I somehow feel the need for more colors in my life. This is something I usually experience towards the end of February, if we have an overcast, gloomy winter, which happens lately, but not in November. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I don't let it get to me, or get depressed, rather find a way to make my life colorful.

Which one and why.jpg

So today, to bring some colors in my and ultimately our life, I'm going to post some photos I took at that very colorful exhibition I posted about here, here and here. This was a very special exhibition of Edit Vári Váncza, one that puts your mind to work and kind of forces you to look for the details as well. I love these and I hope you love them too.

Lake Shore (2025)

At first glance, this painting seems a big, colorful mess, then you think of a colorful waterfall, or just a small place where water is falling like 50cm in a mountain creek, but there's more there.

20250829_123627a.jpg

It's a very funny one and I'll let you discover the hidden beauty of it. Let's see if you can find it.

20250829_123636a.jpg

Horizon - Earth (2025)
Rocks - Earth (2025)

There were these two paintings, apparently similar in style and color, but still different.

Cave Wall - Earth (2025)

20250829_123743a.JPG

Cavity - Earth (2025)

While I was looking at these two paintings, was thinking of how many ways there are to paint the same scene or landscape. Here the artist chose to focus on colors and as you could see, all her paintings are colorful, more than usual I'd say, compared to what we are used to. It's her way to see the world and I love it.

20250829_123748.jpg

Every time I visit this gallery, I take a bunch of photos of the space as I love it. It's a very unconventional room, if you can call it room.

20250829_123806a.jpg

Rose Hips - (2024)

And this is where the fun begins. Those who have read my previous post and reading this one now know the major keyword here is colorful. If you look back, you can notice no matter what the theme of the painting is, it's really colorful.

This is a still life and look at how colorful it is. It's the first of this kind as although I've seen a lot of still life paintings, I've never seen one so colorful. Yes, it's different, unconventional, but I like it.

20250829_123818a.jpg

Autumn Fruits (2024)

This is a bit different from the previous one as the artist chose to make the background, or the surrounding colorful and make the fruits as real as possible. I love how the pear and the apply stand out.

20250829_123834a.jpg

Still Life with Squash (2024)

Another colorful, messy still life and I was thinking if you can call it abstract. Does this qualify for abstract? You tell me.

20250829_123846a.jpg

Flow - Water (2025)

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you look at this painting? Notice something about the colors? Any van Gogh vibes? The colors definitely brings the Dutch painter in mind, but the special brushstrokes are missing. Let's see what else you can tell me about the painting 😀

Water Sound (2024)

Ever since I stepped in the gallery and laid eyes on the paintings, was thinking if I'd hang any on my wall. You have to admit, the style and the color choice is unique and definitely not the usual, so you need a bit of courage, but I definitely would. Maybe at first the surprise was a bit too much or overwhelming, but as I started posting about it, I had time to analyze them and see the deeper meaning and now I can say I love them. For me, a painting like this would be like a riddle. I would be staring at it, trying to figure out if there's more hidden meaning I can't see.

What about you? Would you like one of these paintings on your wall? Which one and why? This begs the question, why do you buy a painting and what kind of painting would you hang on your wall? One that would make you feel good or one that people visiting you would appreciate or envy? There are a lot of questions here 😆

Oh in the waterfall there is a frog, clear like light! Not sure if there is anything else

The worse months are definitely January and February, it's so cold, no colors, dark, flu and illnesses...

Flow - Water: that yellow seems a banana 😂

My pick would be the waterfall, it might look a mess, but it's ordered in real

I don't have paintings in my home, it's small and very little space already occupied by some puzzles, I need to change home... Definitely something I like and it cheers up the mood or relax or gives calmness... A landscape most likely

Speaking of, I went to a fair, some nice paintings I seen but I was alone with the kid, couldn't take photos, some were really great to buy

No the from was the surprise, or the thing that broke the rule :)

We agree on the worst month. I remember one year we got snow at the 1st of March, when flowers should have been to focus of the attention and the weather was so gloomy, you could barely see.

That yellow seems to me like a bird 😜

Sorry to read you could not take photos, but when you're with a little kid, all your focus should be on them, so don't worry.

How beautiful is the frog in the first painting... its hidden beauty!

I love how colourful all the paintings are, the colours really stand out and I love that, as you say, regardless of the subject matter. And yes, I think the still life could be abstract, it has its characteristics... I love all those still lifes.

Today, the one that caught my eye... because the paintings call out to me is this one, but I don't know why. I think it's because it's water, but I see things in the water like leaves, and I really like the contrast with the yellow!

Exactly! It makes you smile when you see it, right?

Today, the one that caught my eye... because the paintings call out to me is this one, but I don't know why.

I think it's because of the flowing colors.

It's interesting, I see a flying bird there, the yellow part but no one mentioned a bird.

Please don't laugh, but I saw a banana... don't laugh! But if I stare at it... a canary, which is a little yellow bird that is very common in Argentina!

I saw the frog again, it's beautiful, but does it leave the frame?

I think it differs on how you interpret the painting There are stories that lie behind all the masterpieces.

My thoughts exactly. We agree on that and you picked a nice one.

Love the frog and the pumpkin in among the other details. I do like that bright yellow painting that evokes Van Gogh. I would like to say I would buy art that I like/appreciate vs what would impress others...but in reality I don't buy anything that qualifies as art.
