Out Of The Box Thinking In Art

Today I'm going to show you some exceptional artworks. I'm going to select some interesting pieces from many exhibitions, just to make it more interesting.

Out Of The box.jpg

I find these types of posts more interesting and entertaining too as it makes people to pick one or multiple artworks that have nothing to do with each other, they don't connect with each other in any way.

Lausanne Dream

I bet there's no one that would have guessed the title of the artwork. Please don't feel bad as I had no idea what it was either and when I saw the title, my jaw dropped as there's no such thing as Lausanne dream. For those of you who don't know what Lausanne is (I bet there are quite a few here):

Lausanne is the capital and largest city of the Swiss French-speaking canton of Vaud, in Switzerland. The Olympic capital, it is a hilly city situated on the shores of Lake Geneva, about halfway between the Jura Mountains and the Alps, and facing the French town of Évian-les-Bains across the lake. Lausanne is located (as the crow flies) 51.7 kilometres (32 miles) northeast of Geneva, the nearest major city. The Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland convenes in Lausanne, although it is not the de jure capital of the nation.

If you look at the artwork, it is colorful, which is good as dreams can be very colorful as well. I like that it is made of genuine leather, which means quality. Switzerland is quality in itself as it's one of the best places to live at and the most expensive as well.

I'm curious what you can tell em about it. What do you see here?

Zoltán Gergely - No Title

Last time I gave you some riddles and some of you had fun. This time I'm going to do the same. Here's the first one. This artwork had no title, so you can start guessing what it is or what you see here. Your guess is as good as mine, so let's have some fun.

Robert Kristó - Reborn In The Storm

It's a really stormy and dark graphics. It is definitely interesting from artistic point of view as you have to think how you're going to achieve this image, just by using coal or graphite, but it's a bit too dark for my taste.

Robert Kristó - Blue Sky Attraction

I'll let this one to you as well. Let's see what you can tell me about it.

Barnabás Bara - Invisible Force

This time I can see what the artist meant, or I just have the impression I can. Anyway, if you have a closer look, this lovely wooden piece looks like a storm, or a hurricane (at least that's how I see it). What I love about it is the lovely color, but there's something I love more and that's the fact that this piece was made from a single piece of wood. This means the artist took a big block of wood and carved this beauty out of it.

Barnabás Bara - ... Sun

I've never had any difficulties giving you the title in English, till now. This is tough, so I'm going to try to explain it to you. We need the sun to live, I think no one can question that. No sun, no life. So basically the sun is keeping us alive, you can say that. So this artwork is that sun.

It is from the same artist and it is as mysterious, sophisticated and gorgeous as the previous one. It is carved from one block as well.

20230915_111621a.JPG

The reason I admire these wooden sculptures so much is the complexity of them. The artist has to have a very good imagination and see the sculpture in 3D, before it is made. Imagine looking at a big block of wood and seeing this carving what you see here. That's what the artist sees basically. If you have that ability, you can create things, but not many can honestly.

Barnabás Bara - ... Sun II.

Yes, you can probably guess, this is another sculpture from the same artist, on the same theme, just named II. As the previous ones, this is also carved from one block.

Árpád Szabó - Snooker

This is an unusual artwork and brilliant too. It is made of electronic components, I bet there will be a few of you who knows exactly what these are. The title is snooker for a good reason. Those balls are connected like you'd hit the balls at the table. or the balls would hit one another. It's a genius idea.

Árpád Szabó - Planetarium

Another artwork from the same artist, made of electronic components. This one is a bit more simple and I'd say the majority of it is made the traditional way and only the bottom is "electronics". I love the idea and how the artist chose the theme. Brilliant.

Let me know what you think about these masterpieces. I'd love to read how you see them and if you like any of them.

The wooden sculptures blew my mind. What artistry, skill, and passion it must take to achieve those shapes, that continuity in a material as solid as wood. Years of skill reflected in a single work.

The work made from electronic components also caught my attention. There is a certain beauty in those integrated circuit boards, thousands of tiny components, symmetry, those shiny materials, so I love that this piece is on display.

When I was writing the post, was thinking who's going to like the tech artworks and was thinking of you 😀

I'm glad you like the wooden sculptures too.

Wonderful collection to present! Like we are professional art curators here! I like the invisible force one speaks to me the most. Neat lines and it looks like it is being pushed into that shape!

Lausanne Dream: i can't see Lausanne on this lol, i don't really like it, they look some hairs 🤣

No Title: i have absolutely no idea on what is this, it seems a sort of space ship toilette cut in half 🙃

Blue Sky Attraction: seems a piece of the big balls used by kids to jump on them, it gives the impression of something soft where you can lay on it

the wooden scultures are cool but i like sun2 the most, on the top there is the sun but above? a human with 2 arms up trying to reach it or greeting it?

i like the electronic too, the second one the most, it's really cool

It looks like hair indeed and maybe it is artificial hair :)

I cannot for the life of me guess what these are. All I see are cat's ears😂 but the sculptures are beautiful @erikah!

"Invisible Force" looks like something out of a fantasy movie, and the "Snooker" piece made from electronics is SO creative

I love having several different works, puzzles, and choices.

In the untitled work... I see... like a Roman theater made of metal, that's the first thing that came to mind.

In the blue sky work, I like the optical effect it creates, as if there were curves and levels.

The wooden works made in one piece are magnificent, and I also love the fact that they are 3D. As for the last two works, my brother is a technician, so I've seen those pieces many times, and I'm passionate about the second one!

I can't remember exactly what material it was, but it may very well be plastic 😬

Maybe you can use some pieces that are not functional anymore :)

Well, a plastic Roman theatre...

Since we moved from Argentina, there's nothing like that here, and he doesn't do that anymore... he does repair my computer, though! But that art is great, innovative!

I love the wood sculptures; this is the first time I've seen anything by Barnabas Bara. The “Invisible Force” left me pondering. As you say, it looks like a hurricane. The symbolism leaves a lot to the imagination, and that's what I love about this kind of work. The fury of “Sun” is quite complex. I imagine the author modeled his ideas with quite deep metaphors.

On the other hand, I liked Robert Kristó's painting; those dark tonalities, perhaps representing an abysmal struggle, and how it can be perceived by who is at the forefront of that struggle.

Blue Sky Attraction seems to me more to the beautiful yet strange in the dense celestial blanket. Maybe I'm wrong, XD, but white dots are usually very hypnotic.

I love these photographs; they are a journey into art and imagination ☺️.

Most likely Barnabas Bara is not known abroad, so it's a good thing he can have international exposure through my blog 😃

Thanks for stopping by and for the comment and I'm glad you liked the artworks :)

Muchas gracias.
Desde ya te sigo.

These works of art are luxurious. 👍🏽 My favorite is the sun, being carved in a single block and that it looks so majestic, I think it is an extraordinary work 👏🏽👏🏽
