More Mess & More Amazing Paintings
It's time to show you another batch of the beautiful and amazing paintings I saw last month in my favorite art gallery. You can read about the first part of my experience, in which I shared why this exhibition was so particular, here -> Messy, But Amazing World Of Paint.
For those of you who missed my first post and don't want to read it, let me give you a brief introduction. It was a solo exhibition of Edit Vári Váncza, a lady that has shown me a style I've never seen before. At first glance, when you enter the gallery, every painting looks like a huge paint mess on the canvas, and may look even disturbing, but after a closer look, you see how deep the meaning of each painting is.
First let me show you the gallery from inside. As I mentioned in my previous post, this was an underground parking lot, which is now a gallery and a meeting room for whoever wants to host an event. There's a studio as well, where you can air a show, so this place is an amazing one.
The Lords Of The Sky - Acrylic on canvas, 2025, 90x80 cm
Almost every painting, at first glance looks like a big mess, then if you have the patience to look at it in details, you see what the artist meant. The lords of the sky here are the birds. Let's see, how many birds you see? I'm not going to tell you how many I see, let this be a game.
From artistic point of view, I think this painting is brilliant. Do I like it? Yes, I do, but would I hang it on my wall? Most likely not as I still find it messy.
Cold Flame - Acrylic on canvas, 2025, 90x80 cm
Blue is a cold color and flames are usually far from cold, but in art everything is possible, without exception.
Attachment - Acrylic on canvas, 2025, 90x80 cm
What do you see here? To me it seems like an embryo, with an eye looking at me, or the viewer. I'm not sure if I'm right, but could be as an embryo is attached to the mom for 9 months, more or less and the position of the red spot also resembles of an embryo.
Judgment - Acrylic on canvas, 2025, 90x80 cm
When I first looked at this piece, my first thought was Storm but I was wrong. I thought the red face is the face of a storm, then you have the hands, like trying to stop something. To be honest, I don't know why this piece is called judgement, but I like the face and the hands, they are so life like.
Are these two paintings connected in any way? The colors and the style says yes, but the themes ... not really, or I can't see the connection. let's see what the artists say here and I'm a bit lost.
Presence - Oil on canvas, 2021, 70x50 cm
This is an interesting one and I'm trying to figure out if it has a deeper meaning than the one I can see. I see the elderly gentleman is present, but I'm wondering if the background, that at some point covers him as well, has a deeper meaning. Is that the universe? Or what is it?
The Blue Bird of Happiness - Acrylic on canvas, 2025, 60x50 cm
The Price Of Shining - Acrylic on canvas, 2025, 50x60 cm
I'm not sure if the meaning is understandable, I'm afraid it's lost in translation, so let me explain it. Shining, as in a movie star is shining in front of the cameras at a festival, or something like that.
As you can see, there is the devil (I think it's the devil) above you, which is true as once you're famous, you don't have a private life, you're followed everywhere and danger is following you as well. There's a heavy price to pay. What is funny is that when people are not famous, they would give and do anything to become famous, then when it happens, they would also give everything for a quiet minute and a relatively normal life.
There were these two paintings, one next to the other and at first site you think they are pretty much the same, mean the same. I thought so too, but I was wrong and you are too.
Flare - Acrylic on canvas, 2025, 50x60 cm
Flame - Acrylic on canvas, 2025, 50x60 cm
Unfortunately there was no possibility to take a decent photo of them, without having my shadow on the canvas, so this is what I could do under those circumstances.
Now, I hope the translation is ok and you can see the difference. Can you?
So all in all, I tried to pick one, that I'd hang on my wall, but I think I'm going to skip it this time. There are other paintings of this exhibition and maybe I can find one, or more, among those, but not this time.
Let me know if you have a favorite.

i count 6 birds!
Attachment : i don't really know because it's hugging something, maybe it's meant for everyone of us attached to something only any of us knows?
Judgment : red face is the condamned and blue face on right is the judge, but i don't understand the hands
falre is more defined, flame is a bit more messy
my favorite here the birds one!
I hate to disappoint you, but there are seven birds there. Now let's see if you can find them 😉
Attachment: you could be right, I didn't think of it like that.
Looks like you're the only brave one today 🤣
Have a nice weekend my friend!
Ah got the 7th! Tricky one yellow in the middle!
No one dare to try and count the birds 🤣
Thanks, you too!
I'm glad you found it. It was undercover 😎
I see seven birds, I see them and they are beautiful. I think I would have that painting on my wall, I love it. If I had everything I see in your posts and like, I would have a museum!
You know what? I don't see an embryo, I see a hug, and it gives me chills of excitement when I write it, it made me feel tender. The judgement next to it is great, especially because of the hands. The index finger is the finger of judgement towards others.
I think the old man is present everywhere, because he has passed away, everywhere in the universe.
I repeat... what a beautiful painting of the birds! Thank you!🤗
Yes, 7 birds is correct, congrats for spotting them 😆 I'm glad you love it.
This is interesting, but so is the rest what you say 😯 I love how we see different things looking at the same painting.
Overall, I am glad you found one that you love. 🤗
I love being able to find hidden figures, it's fascinating! And it must be even more fascinating to paint something like that. Thank you!💗
Just wait as the best part is yet to come 😎
You're welcome!
Yes!!! There's more!!! Yes!! Good evening!!🤗
very clever how the artwork with just a cursory glance would seem a mess, but if you "look" at each one....how clever things are seen. Out of chaos comes order
I needed a few minutes to figure out what I'm seeing, when I entered. It offers a lot, if you have the patience to look at the canvas and find what it's hidden.
I love the birds paintings in this article now.
That seems to be the winner today.
The exhibition is incredible; I imagine it must have been a great experience. All the paintings are incredible, and it's hard to say or even imagine that one is better than another, because they all mean something. However, the one that most captured my attention was "The Blue Bird of Happiness." The bird's flight across the sky is breathtaking. Thanks for sharing it with us.
It was indeed a great experience that I will not forget.
I'm surprised you picked "The Blue Bird of Happiness". It's a particular one, but not my favorite. I'm glad though and this is why art is so wide angled, there's something for everyone.
Those paintings are so meaningful and attractive. Such a wonderful exhibition.
I'm glad you like them as they are not the usual bunch.
My favorite is Presence, but I loved the other paintings too. What a wonderful exhibition!
So beautiful paintings. I do not have much knowledge about paintings. But these paintings are so beautiful.
