Last night, I went with my daughter and her boyfriend to see Polyphia perform in Salt Lake City. The concert was at a much smaller venue than any of other concerts we have been to recently. We got there about 2 hours before the show started, and it was a good thing because the show was sold out and it got pretty packed in there.

The concert info had no mention of an opening band, but when we got in there, we saw they were selling merch for a band named Unprocessed. No one in the concert seemed to have heard of them, and when they took the stage, we really had no idea if they would be good or not.

When they first started, the singer's microphone was not working, so I automatically figured these guys would suck. But holy shit, I was totally wrong about that. These guys absolutely killed it live.

They are super technical musicians. They sounded a lot like Polyphia, but they actually have lyrics and sing along with amazing guitar skills. The singer reminded me Deftones, Taproot and Flaw.

As you can see from their music video, these dudes have some serious skills. It was crazy that none of us have heard of them, but between songs, the bass player told us that they are from Germany and this is their first time touring the US. I really think these guys have a huge future ahead of them because they are some of the most skilled musicians I have ever seen. Normally bands don't sound so good live, especially when they have super technical guitars, but these guys didn't seem to miss any notes.

They were one of the best opening bands I have ever seen and probably the perfect band to open up for Polyphia. I have been listening to them pretty much all day today and we all can't wait to see them perform again. It was such an amazing night.

Thanks for highlighting a cool band! I'm looking forward to listening to them and hopefully getting into their stuff! I'm on a Four Year Strong kick right now, with Ice Nine Kills and Nevertel being my musical obsession previous to that. It always goes in waves. Lol! !PIZZA

I'm glad I could introduce you to a new band. Ice Nine Kills is going to be playing here soon and I am trying to decide if I want to go or not.

Man, these kids could be the biggest stars in the future. I listened to the song you shared here and it's incredible. I love it! I think I'm going to listen to their songs for a few days too. Thanks for sharing. The photos are stunning as always.

Thanks. One thing I have learned over the years as my kids have grown up is that time never slows down and you need to make an effort when it comes to making memories.

Thanks for introducing a new band. I love it when a musician can work an instrument in a way that most others do not. There's this one kid on TikTok that can play the guitar in this fashion and he's quite impressive for how old he is too.

Great photos btw!

Thought you might like it maybe. Question for you, do you find it difficult to capture a clear image when the lighting is all sorts of different colors, dims and whatnot?

Ya, it can get tricky with the different types of lighting, but with all of these concert shots, I was using my phone since they wouldn’t let me bring my good camera in. It is so much easier with a phone to take pictures in this type of setting because the phone does all the thinking. If I had my other camera, I am sure the pictures would be way better, but I would have also had to learn how to get decent shots in such weird lighting.

Phones are good for that, but yeah I too prefer camera.
