Wind Turbines

The landscape around Pincher Creek, Alberta, is littered with these wind turbines. Apparently this area is considered the wind capital of Canada, so naturally corporations take advantage of this “windy condition”. Although it does look sort of cool to photograph, it is also sort of an eye sore, as there are a lot of them around here. Apparently about 250!! Good thing they are a good distance from beautiful Waterton Lakes parks, located about a thirty minute drive south of here. Thanks for stopping by.

Try to convince people the big fans cause the wind. See how many are gullible enough to fall for it

What an incredible shot! The contrast between the vast wind farm and the distant mountains is stunning. I've heard Pincher Creek is the 'Wind Capital of Canada,' and your photo perfectly captures that energy. Thank you for the invitation to the Monochrome/Color community—it sounds like a great place for photography lovers. Looking forward to sharing more!

Thank you for the invitation! If I have photos to share, would it be okay to post both color and black-and-white photos in your community? Please let me know. Thanks!

As much as green energy is good, in mass they are so ugly and ruin landscapes

Glad they are far from Waterton park, else it would certainly ruin the landscape.

from a distance it looks interesting, but up close I agree with you it's a bit of an eyesore.

Yes, but cool in it's own way.

I'm sure this photo would be chosen from tens of thousands for a remake of "Windows 95" and its famous wallpaper, but made in 2026! It's excellent! 😃🔟📷

🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'll be 55 soon, my friend!... And my first operating system was "CP/M" on a Kaypro 10 in 1986, I think!... Believe me, "I was there when Windows 1.0 came out and it seemed like magic to me."

I love the clouds in the first shot, nice picture. I know they generate electricity but they are a bit of an eyesore. That is such pretty country and then you have these wind towers everywhere...

If you ever drive from Palm Springs, California down to LA it's the same problem. The canyon is constantly windy so what did they do, erect windmills everywhere. It really ruins all of the natural beauty in my opinion...

Excellent shots as always, good work!

Oh, I didn't realize they are so prevalent in California. Nothing we can do about it though, unfortunately. Thanks for stopping by.

Dear, you have posted the right thing at the right time. In the current world situation, wind power is very important. The electricity situation in my country Bangladesh is currently very bad, wind power can play an important role in such a situation. The cloud scene in your picture is amazing.❤️❤️❤️❤️

Excelente captura @daveks. Las nubes le dan un toque dramático increíble, aunque entiendo perfectamente tu punto sobre el impacto visual de los aerogeneradores.

Excellent capture @daveks. The clouds give it an incredible dramatic touch, although I perfectly understand your point about the visual impact of the wind turbines.
