日本庭園 ~ the Japanese Garden

DSC09367.jpeg

Butchart Gardens is basically divided into five different themed sections: the Sunken Garden, Rose Garden, Mediterranean Garden, Italian Garden, and Japanese Garden. Let’s enter the Japanese Garden through the “Torii gate”. The gate symbolizes going from the mundane to the sacred. These gates are often found at Shinto shrines and cultural centers. Apparently the garden got started way back in 1906 by a Japanese landscaper (shocker..). It felt like I was back in Japan whilst meandering around the garden. If you have never been to Japan before, you must certainly go someday. A great experience is awaiting. Thanks for stopping by.

How very cool! I love the garden that was designed by an actual Japanese designer. It's beautiful. Japan is one the places I've never been able to visit, maybe one of these day it will work out still! Awesome pictures, and what a cool feature they have in their garden!
