Riverside Fun

DSC09627.jpeg

Come on, let’s go to the riverside. Let’s hang out by the refreshing water. Pull up a log, and sit down awhile. Wanna a do a little fishin? Or maybe a bit of canoeing or kayaking instead. So many things to do by/in the river. At the very least, jump in the water and cool off. I bet you can’t swim to the other side and back…wanna race? On your marks, get set, go! Photos taken by the Kootenay river. Thanks for stopping by.

The river looks so cool. Sitting under the tree with coffee and fishing is perfect.

It's such a tranquil place to actually visit. Are people allowed to come in, take a dip and swim as well?

This photo seemed merely "good" to me when I saw it in color, but when I saw it in black and white, it made me applaud. Because when the colors disappeared, the entire visual rhythm and structure of the elements were revealed, as well as your excellent compositional decision with that vanishing point on the left bank and riverbed, and that challenging placement of the horizon just a touch higher than the center of the image. So, this is one of those photos where the monochromatic scheme transforms everything, turning a "good photo" into one worthy of "standing up and applauding"... Thanks for sharing this, @daveks friend!
