Kootenay Kolourful Lakes

DSC08285.jpeg

One thing I love about the Canadian Rockies are the colourful lakes. Out here, a lot of the lakes are glacially fed, which gives them a colourful turquoise appearance, but this lake here called Silver Spring is actually “spring-fed”, which means the water comes from underground springs (mostly). The water is a cool mixture of turquoise and green. Did you know that British Columbia has over 20,000 lakes? But out of those only (only!) 7,100 are named. Do you plan on visiting any gorgeous lakes this Summer? Let me know in the comment section below. Thanks for stopping by.

You could explore, find one new and name it with your own name! 😅

That's strange the green is near the shore, you know why? Turquoise in the middle, greenish on the shore

Have you ever been to Lake Daveks lol!

Might have something to do with the mostly spring water, and a bit of glacially fed, but really not too sure..

Wow, what an amazing view. The water is so clear, blue and green, it looks so calm. The rocks beside it give a solid impression. Nature is always right on target in designing something.
