Getting Close to Grouse

DSC07496.jpeg

I spot some grouse in the distance, approach slowly, gradually I pull out my camera — slowly, hoping I do not scare them away. Slowly but surely, is the way to go. Fingers crossed they do not scare and fly off. I start photographing from a far, but wish I was closer. Luckily I have some zoom power built into my lens, and 42 megapixels to work with for cropping. This is the best I got, before they decided they’d had enough of me! Thanks for stopping by.

Wow it's not really common to see it! Here from time to time you can see that served on restaurants in certain locations

Somewhat common here in East Kootenay, British Columbia. Wouldn't be my first choice for menu selections lol.

In the first picture he looks shy, then he starts posing. and in the fourth picture he feels bored with the same old thing, finally the tail wagging technique comes out.

Very nice shots man. The grouse looks cool with its feathers puffed up. Good job getting close without scaring them, you were on stealth mode hahaha

If only I had that function on my camera -- stealth mode would be awesome!

I think you got a better shot in the 3rd and 4th picture, infact the third picture was the best for me, but I think it's better you started shooting earlier since you didn't know if the bird was going to be scared away.

Problem is if you try and get a close shot, you risk losing everything. Something is better than nothing right.

Beauty photo graphs, that 3rd one is pretty cool where it is chillin' in the center of the photo

They did have enough of you before they flew away but you got some great shots here. The zoom power of your camera is super cool. All the beauty still intact.

Beautiful, this is acutually the first time where l enjoyed the back n white - (im not really a fan of black n white) but today the one where the grouse is in the middle really hit different.

Thank you for sharing, have a great weekend ;)
