Final Stretch

DSC00621.jpeg

We finally made it to the top of North Star Mountain, also known as Kimberley Alpine ski resort. The “final stretch” of the hike took us to the club house, where we sat down and had a light lunch. For me, not even a light lunch, I am more of a light snacker when on hikes. If I eat too much then I tend to lose my drive or “nature calls” at the wrong time, which tends to be not ideal. Light snacks it is. I am amazed at others in my group which literally ate four times (or more) what I had, over the course of the entire hike — and I was even the bigger one lol! Thanks for stopping by.

Personally I only eat as much when I'm home, and not having any outdoor activities. I think the lighter you eat, the better you feel to burn some energy on a walk or hike, the biggest or most important aspect of hike especially on a sunny day would be appropriate hydration, although I don't know about you.

Agreed, my focus is more on hydration and less on food while out on the trails.

You're right, buddy, eating too much can really sap your energy; it just makes you want to lie around. The hiking spot you visited this time looks stunning, too. I’m amazed by the shape of those clouds, they’re absolutely beautiful.

Less food can equal more energy, usually I just eat a bit more the day before.

Being out-eaten four-to-one by everyone else on the trail is a special kind of betrayal, and congrats on finally topping North Star.

That first pic reminds me of the road. Less traveled.

I always eat light while I'm out doing physical activity, heavy meals just slow me down. Such gorgeous scenery, I would have spent all week there... I love that mountain range off in the distance, very cool looking. Glad you had a great hiking day there!
