Dutch Hoodoos
It was a relatively easy hike up to the Fairmont Hoodoos, also known as the “Dutch Hoodoos”. At least a lot easier than the Wilmer wetlands hike I’d say. These hoodoos are really so cool to look at. Typically formed through a combination of wind and rain beating against the elements. From the top, you get views of the Purcell mountains as well as the Rocky Mountains. Very sweet views! All in all, I rate this hike at about an 8/10. Very low effort for some nice views. Definitely do it again if I had the chance! Thanks for stopping by.

Those rocks have an interesting shape, typical one of wind erosion, so curvy
Yes, very curvy, probably not so stable either.
A view like this makes your steps feel lighter, it is truly beautiful, enhanced by the abundance of greenery that refreshes the eyes.
It was a nice reward for the easy hike!
That is an unusual erosian pattern. So it is from wind and rain. It makes sense, but it is surprisingly pretty for erosian, something we don't usually associate with beauty. but I guess humans aren't the only thing which will be returned to dust, even the majestic mountains are gradually worn away, and return to dust.

You're definitely right, these are some astonishing views, and your shots are really amazing. However I'm concerned for how the terrain looks, it feels a bit dangerous, especially considering that the slopes are very steep. But, I see you had a lot of fun being here

u are right. i was in a car wreck back in 1998 and broke my hip and femur. now i use a cane or walker, so walking sucks for me, and i am slow slow slow.. :P no more tennis for me!

Those are some cool rock features. It's amazing how wind and rain erode away the rock over eons leaving the interesting formations we can see today. That sounds like a great hike, an 8/10 with relatively low effort and some great vistas. Two different mountain ranges.
Interesting that the name Hoodoo got attached to it, as it's more of an African spiritual term, or Caribbean. But I suppose everything need a name. Maybe the beautiful view made the person who named it feel spiritually inspired?

Any kind of formation like this we tend to generically call "hoodoos", at least here in Canada. But as you say, it is definetly a weird word. Sounds like voodoo lol.
