Bellevue Abort

DSC09813.jpeg

I decided to check out this nearly zero elevation gain trail called the “Bellevue Prairie trail”. Aside from some decent mountain footage to the left of the trail, the rest of the trail looked boring and void of any trees. Truly a flat prairie type of hike you might say. After about twenty minutes or so, I made the executive decision to abort the hike (it was already late in the afternoon anyways..). Still worthwhile for a few pics to present here on Hive, maybe that is the reason I went in the first place. Thanks for stopping by.

It's so dry it doesn't even seem Canada but something more like California! Great views though

You're right, a dry area susceptible to grass fires, as it what happened some years back.

It's natural to feel bored here, as you're used to challenging places. But it's also beautiful.

The first picture reminds me of Saudi Arabia, where I spent 17 years probably . Because it looks deserted with no greeneries around. Thanks for this beautiful reminder.

Saludos.

Greetings. I understand you perfectly; sometimes you look for the challenge of the climb and a flat path doesn't motivate you the same way. However, the photos turned out excellent; that open landscape has its charm. I usually do mountain routes here in Venezuela and a change of scenery is always appreciated. Good call on aborting if time was tight!

Are there many good mountain routes in Venezuela?

Muchísimas! Venezuela tiene desde selvas hasta picos nevados. En mi estado, Aragua, tenemos rutas de montaña increíbles con vistas espectaculares. Si te gusta la aventura, este es el lugar ideal.

Most certainly a prairie for sure! Looks like kind of a boring hike so I can see why you called it quits early. Plus I've always found you have to be a little careful in those prairie areas, rattlesnakes really seem to like them for some reason. Maybe lot of rodents?

You did get some nice mountain pictures though, so wasn't a complete loss. Any day you get out into nature is always a good one in my opinion. Did you have any big trips this past weekend?

Other than some easy walks around the neighbourhood, nothing much special. Currently planning our July Big vacation. East coast or West coast, that is the question.

If you've never gone east that might be tempting. Don't know what kind of scenery they have out there up there in Canada though!

Apparently stunning, maybe that is the place to go. Just further away and less familiar.

WOW!... What a beautiful landscape!... There's something "Wild West" about these views!... And in black and white it's exquisite to see!
