Around the Parliament

Perhaps it was more interesting to be outside the parliament vs inside the parliament! Walking around the grounds, here are a couple things I found. A fountain I captured in 1/2000th of second, stop motions droplets. A war memorial to the “unknown soldier”, commemorating various wars Canada has participated in. A totem pole representing indigenous culture, one of several found throughout British Columbia. A statue of Queen Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia named after her of course. Thanks for stopping by.

That fountain picture is amazing. It’s wild how you can see the droplets so clearly.

I like the color version better but I like the black and white version too!

The totem pole design is very cool, it is clear that every detail of the carving holds many stories.

Yes, I'm sure it does. The taller the totem, the greater the stories possibly.

Thank you. Statues go well with monochrome in particular.

Awww... I love seeing all that "still water" forming a perfect setting for the fountain and the dome behind it!... Great, simply great, and more great in B&W version!

That fountain capture was amazing catching those water droplets. High speed can really capture some nice images. Very nice stuff outside of the Parliament building, tributes to those soldiers who died and their identities lost. That would be a sad way to have died in battle. That's why the militaries keep DNA records of personnel so that doesn't happen anymore thank goodness!

Yes the age of warfare has changed immensely over the years. Now we have "high tech" militaries. Of course our Canadian forces could probably use a bit more of everything.

I like those colorz, & esp' that action photo graph of the water.
