Another day, another Gran Turismo 7 build, and another Toyota. Not just any Toyota though, this one is a tiny little hatchback with lots of power. This tiny car is built to be driven, and as Doug DeMuro put it in his video, "The Toyota GR Yaris Is the Coolest Hatchback America Doesn’t Get"
Today I'd like to share with you my custom-built Toyota GR Yaris RZ '20 and its livery design, which I created..
First, a bit of backstory about the Toyota GR Yaris RZ...
Toyota has long been a dominant presence in the World Rally Championships, consistently fighting for the series championship year after year. After building a number of classic rally race cars, the company introduced its newest off-road competition machine in 2021: the GR Yaris.
At first, it may not look that different from the production hatchback, aside from the super wide rear fenders, but under the skin beats the heart of a serious racer. Built on a combination of the TNGA GA-B and GA-C platforms, the extremely lightweight body possesses increased rigidity. Its flowing profile, characterized by the low carbon-fiber roof, optimizes airflow.
Under the hood of the RZ model is the G16E-GTS, a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-3. Boasting the smallest size and lightest weight in its class, this unit produces 200 kW (268.2 HP/370 Nm (272.7 ft-Ib) and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission that sends power to all four wheels via a newly developed electronically controlled coupling type center differential.
The RZ High-Performance model is equipped with Torsen LSDs for both the front and rear differentials, for maximum traction.
This "First Edition" model, introduced alongside the GR Yaris in January 2020, was offered to those who preordered the car. Among other things, it featured special forged aluminum wheels and was autographed by Toyota "master driver' Morizo, who is in fact Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda.
Specs after mods:
371 hp
363 ft-lb torque
2218 lbs
The final power numbers aren't crazy staggering, but the lightweight of this car allows it to keep up with more powerful cars in its class. This AWD beast is capable of quite a bit on the track. When driving it, I managed to gracefully slide around each and every corner. Within the first race, I had already grown comfortable controlling how the car drives. It's a pleasant treat to witness this thing in action.
For some reason, I wanted to stick with a red/black/white color theme for the livery design. The car is made in Japan, so I also wanted to showcase the heritage aspect of the car. This leads me to combine sex appeal with Japanese. The result is something I think stands out as a dominant design in my collection of liveries that I've created here lately.
The girl licking the apple is my favorite part of the car, but I also really love the geisha on the front fender. I added the blood drip in the background to accentuate the idea of this car dripping in sex appeal. You will also notice samurai, oni, rising sun, vampire teeth, and more Japanese symbolism.
A car with red rims is always just so striking to me. This is especially true when paired with a livery design that is meant to catch attention. The overall result of the car's look is something I'm quite proud of.
If you are proud of something, why not take some photos of it? So that is exactly what I did with these 10 GT7 Scapes images. All were captured inside the game's advanced photo mode suite and I think they deliver in a big way. I You can easily notice the fine details of the car and all of its glory. I decided to stage each shot in various locations across the beautiful country of Japan.

beautifully designed 😍😍😍
Who would have thought a frikkin yaris can look that good😂
Although Ken Block raced and drifted a souped up one... Or was that that the Hyundai I20? Damn can't remember now...
Anyways love that build!!

I remember playing this old ass Yaris arcade video game when the car first came out. It was the lamest car ever.
The new GR is undeniably awesome though. It would be a good rally car whether or not Ken actually drove one... I'm not sure either. I remember the Hoonicorn and Hoonitron. The Ford Focus too.

There is not much to talk about this Toyota GR Yaris RZ '20 vehicle, just enjoy it since it is simply a spectacle to see it in action, and the decoration is very striking and makes it even more real.
It slipped under the radar for most. Car enthusiasts are ecstatic about it though.
Saludos mi amigo este vehiculo esta super bello sencillamente hermoso 💖 el Yaris Toyota es Toyota.
Muchas gracias. Me alegra que te guste mi creación.
what can be said about the Toyota Yaris is another thing, it is a super incredible sports car, just seeing it is striking
Base model is lame, but the GR is a beast.
:) what a clean, beautiful looking, little bull dog of a car!
that gate in the first pic is just spectacular!
This thing would give it's all during a race, but not saying it'd win every time. It does stand a chance though.
And yes I agree, I love Japanese architecture.
for sure! I really like that small, yet powerful look.. 💪😎🤙
I am very fond of modifying cars like this and now when I get my new car in a while I will definitely try to make it like this because it looks nicer. Here in Pakistan people are also very keen and whenever we forget here and there, people come with cars that they have made themselves. After buying a car, the first thing people do is to change its interior and add design colors that make the car more beautiful.
Saying no to mods is one of the most difficult things about getting a new car that wants to be driven.
Those sexy girls on the side of your car makes it more sexier :P @daltono Are you the one eating apple in between ?
The more power the more sex appeal needed to balance it all out.
That was actually sexy
As I have been falling myself into the rabbit hole of Gran Turismo since I started playing GT2 and then also gave a quick try at GT4 (along with GT PSP), this is just the right amount of GT goodness and overall great combination of car and enviroment design I have seen today, I love that GT7 (even with all the faults I've heard it has) has a Photo mode for things like these! :)
Thanks. Im glad you enjoyed this.
GT7 game has improved massively since launch. I’ve loved it since the beginning, but I know there are many things that people could easily focus on that were negative. Monetization etc.
Did you see GT7 is getting. PSVR2 support? It looks so good!
I remember that I had heard of GT6 having PS VR support, but didn't know that GT7 would get this too; I can only imagine the experience of playing ANY Gran Turismo game in VR being something truly unique.
Maybe one day when I can save up enough, I can give a spin to a place that lets you rent PS VR games for minutes to finally try VR for the first time. I definitely had Beat Saber as my go-to choice at first...but if they do happen to have a PS VR setup with Gran Turismo, I'll have no choice but to go for that just to live GT in the craziest way ever.
I don't really have the money to buy a PSVR2 at launch either, but hopefully someday I can get one and see what it is like. I've always wanted to try Beat Saber, but I've yet to really ever play VR still.
