It's winter season so here is my Icy Mazda RX-7 in the snow - GT7 Scapes
I'm back once again sharing some more absolutely insane screenshots that I captured while playing one of my favorite video games. I'm of course talking about Gran Turismo 7 and its Scapes photo mode. I've posted images like these before, but I've yet to share my custom RX-7 design.
I took this car to many different snow locations across the world. The results were nothing short of spectacular with stunning views overlooking mountains, rural tundras, and much more.
Staging the car for the perfect shot is something I don't mind spending that extra little bit of time on. It's one thing to be a photographer, but to have all of your controls in the palm of your hand and be able to do what Scapes allows you to do, just never gets old to me.
You may remember the very first Fast and Furious movie. The opening race is where Paul Walker's character Brian O'Conner/Spillner tries to win with his famous lime green Mitsubishi Eclipse. Dominic Toretto drove a red 1993 Mazda RX-7 FD in the race with Brian, Danny, and Edwin. During the race, Brian in his Eclipse tries to gain the advantage by using nitrous but Dominic uses his nitrous as well and easily beats him. It's an iconic scene and something that still fuels my love for car customization to this day.
The Mazda RX-7 is a popular choice among Japanese domestic market (JDM) tuners and has a strong following in the car tuning community. Many people consider it one of the best JDM tuner cars of all time due to its high performance and potential for modification. The RX-7 has a rotary engine, which gives it a unique and distinctive sound, and it has a strong reputation for being a well-balanced and capable sports car. Whether or not it is the "best" JDM tuner car is a matter of personal opinion, as different people have different preferences when it comes to cars. However, it is undoubtedly a classic and highly respected car within the tuning community and one will still turn the heads of any car enthusiast when seen on the road/track.
I started this build with a base Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02. I of course first purchased all of the available modifications to max out the car's capabilities. This also means lowering it as far as it could go toward the ground too, because why now right? I then added a body kit and some wheels and it was time to get to work on the wrap design.
Livery design in GT7 is another thing this game does very well. There are many base images to work with, but you can also upload or use other people's public uploads. I themed this one with ice and winter in mind. I found a graphic of Blanc from Hyperdimension Neptunia, which is an old JRPG video game, one that I have never even played actually. I just thought the designs would work really well with my idea.
After doing my thing for a few hours, the final livery was complete. I was very pleased with how it all turned out and I think it has got to be the coldest RX-7 to ever exist. What do you think?
Now is the perfect time to remind you that there are 8 photos of this amazing car of mine attached to this post. I'm always curious about which one will be everybody's favorite. Personally, mine is the one with the RX-7 parked on the snowing road overlooking the massive mountains. It's one of the most epic shots ever and I'm sure many will believe that it is from real life. I will once again make it clear, all of these photos are from a video game.
If you haven't already, I highly recommend Gran Turismo 7, it's available on PS4 and PS5. I can honestly say it is my favorite racing game of all time, it even beats out Need For Speed Unbound which I just completed recently. After that one, I had a craving for a more realistic racing sim, GT7 is that game.

Gran Turismo is the epitome of realism and it's a car enthusiasts dream video game. Especially ones like me who love taking photographs too.

The perfect mix of colors, patterns, and seasons I also really like the second-to-last photo. The position of the car on the snowy road overlooking the mountains flanked by large trees and rocks really confirms the arrogance of the RX-7.
Like, really real, even though you insist that you took it from a video game. But, do they exist in the real world?
I love the shot sitting sideways on the curvy road too. It feels good to be able to show off a detailed livery design with high-quality photographs of the car.

This is probably the best-looking racing game I've seen. It feels so true to driving on an actual track too. What a great game it is. Cherry on top is the Scapes photo mode for getting shots like these.
Grand Turismo 7. A PlayStation game? Scapes Photo Mode is pretty cool.
Yes, it's a PlayStation exclusive, but at least it's playable on both PS4 and PS5. There is no photo mode in a game quite as amazing as this one.

I've been thinking about having my logo airbrushed for a long time, it's a bit expensive but I think I'll get it done soon... maybe then I'll show you the result.
These images you posted are really realistic, it's a phenomenal game, the most beautiful car game out there in my opinion; even if I don't play it, I know him well, his fame precedes him.
You could always get a decal instead of painting it. Probably will be way cheaper that way and you can easily remove it if you ever wish to do so.
Yes, I confess that I had thought about it and I also applied some already on the car... but the result is very different.
I think that as soon as possible I will make this investment and I will redo the look of the p1k4ppamobile eh eh!

It's a one-of-a-kind Japanese beast 👹
Driving around in such a beautiful vehicle in such a beautiful weather has its own fun. Its my dream to live in snowy area because I love snow falling. Natural sights are very beautiful to the human heart. I am also very fond of playing car games since my childhood, I have played need four speed a lot. The backgrounds in the games are pretty amazing.
I live in a place where it snows during the winter, it is certainly unlike any other type of weather. I'd be okay with never seeing the snow again though, I've been around it for 30 years now.
DAMN! I thought it was real at first. I really need to get updated on a game system. I say that as I clean this off....

I have a dusty PS4 sitting around, but it has some potential to be useful if I ever want to go back and play some old PS4 games. All of my save files are stored on it. Otherwise, I'd get rid of the thing.
To bad you couldn’t just transfer them to the 5.
A lot of them are cloud saves so you can do that. The ones that are saved to the hard drive you have to manually move each file one by one and I just haven't felt like doing it.
Having a vehicle like that Mazda and walking with it through the snow must be great even if it's in fiction. Thank you for choosing those photos to share with us.
This RWD car has so much power that it would be basically impossible to drive it in the snow. Good thing the game makes it simple to recreate.
I would love to have this one day, but it's very hard as we are living at a time when inflation in my country is at it's highest value and we are struggling to meet our daily needs. Your post and these incredible pictures gives me some time of relaxation and peace. I love the Car.

That is a pretty sweet ride. And I love the backgrounds. That color blue is perfect for snowy backgrounds.
I could literally just spend all of my time creating cool cars and taking photographs of them in the game.
I remember the first time I played racing game with hubby with PS2 and he won I became so angry and I quit playing racing game.
But I love football game so much especially when am using my favorite club .
It's certainly a difficult thing to lose.

That looks awesome man, loving the RX! It's definitely one of the most popular JDM cars in the world. I knew a couple friends that had them and it was pretty cool to drive in them, though I only got to drive in them once each since they were 2 seaters and I wasn't really good friends with them lol. I personally prefer the Supra's though!
I think the mountain shots are my favorite, it's a toss up between the bend overlook one and the one with the trees. Hard to choose!
I had a friend in high school that got an RX-8, but he had nothing but problems with it. He did however get it at an auction, so it probably was just a lemon. I still thought the car looked so awesome though, but not quite as good as the RX-7.
It's hard to take bad photographs in this game.
