Apple Blossom Monochrome Monday

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to share some pictures flipped into black and white from the apple blossom farm walk that my son and I went on the other day!

Apple Blossom Monochrome Monday

Taking a walk through the apple orchard at the prime time of the blossoms blooming was a really wonderful experience! We got to see all of the wonder of the fields, things that my son had gotten to experience in the past but I was not able to until this year. I definitely enjoyed it!

The farm that we spend so much time at throughout the year is definitely going to be a place that we miss when we do eventually move out of the area. I know it may sound weird but we do spend so much time at this spot hahaha it's incredible. For good reason though, delicious food, beautiful scenery and supporting a local business! What more could you ask for?!

The fields were surprisingly empty when my son and I went exploring. Yeah there were people in the other part of the farm doing things like playing on the kids toy area, looking at the chickens and even some people picking flowers. We got to pick some of the flowers ourselves but that was not really the highlight of the day. The highlight was walking through the orchard! I love getting to spend time out there. We've been so many times for apple picking which is my favorite thing to do in the autumn time.

Getting into the orchard in the springtime though has been something I've not been able to do very often, but am glad that I certainly got to this year! I've been meaning to make it out there for a few years now, but have been held back from work and other things. The smell of the blossoms was absolutely wonderful!

I especially love taking the awesome pictures that I was lucky enough to take, and flipping some into black and white. The color ones are indeed awesome, and you can see them on my Wednesday Walk posts but them in black and white ends up being something quite special.

The flowers have such a strong hue of white to them that it really doesn't get diminished the way a yellow flower or something else would by turning it to black and white. The desaturation protocol that I use also really deepens the shadows and things in the picture as well, which makes them look interesting! I think the steel-grey sky of the day also adds a nice and unique texture overall to the photos. I think that might be why people were not in the orchard, it felt like a crummy day. More time for me though :D.

When you convert the pictures to black and white, their beauty increases a lot.
