Hello HIVEs!
There's no denying it, Christmas is over and the New Year is just around the corner. I have chosen both as my theme. Although you should take the cover picture with a sense of humour.
Man kann es nicht leugnen, Weihnachten ist vorbei und das neue Jahr steht vor der Tür. Beides habe ich mir zum Thema vorgenommen.
Wobei man das Titelbild eher mit Humor nehmen sollte.

I'd been thinking about this picture for days and wondered how I should create it. In the end, I decided on this simple variant without light painting: I placed an EMISAR D18 with a red colour filter on the floor directly in front of the wall. Then I adjusted the camera and set the self-timer with a 10-second delay. This gave me enough time to position myself with the props in front of the camera.
Seit Tagen geisterte mir dieses Bild im Kopf herum und ich überlegte wie ich es darstellen sollte. Schließlich entschied ich mich für diese einfache Variante ohne ein Lightpainting: Ich stellte eine EMISAR D18 mit rotem Farbfilter auf den Boden direkt vor die Wand. Dann justierte ich die Kamera und stellte den Selbstauslöser mit 10 Sekunden Zeitverzögerung ein. Damit hatte ich genügend Zeit mich selbst mit den Requisiten vor der Kamera zu positionieren.

I know the picture is cruel. But I have my reasons for depicting it so blatantly.
It's not really about Santa Claus or Christmas itself. On the contrary, it's a contemplative holiday that you usually spend with your loved ones. I wouldn't want to miss that either.
But there is one thing that spoils the anticipation a little, and that is compulsive consumerism. I don't take part in it, but I'm constantly reminded by the media and other people what a stress it is to buy all the presents and that everything is sooo expensive.
People, that's annoying! Personally, I give presents that I make myself or that can be eaten. In general, I really enjoy making things myself. I also can't remember the last time I went shopping gifts. Life can be so beautiful... 😉
Ich weiß, das Bild ist grausam. Ich habe aber meine Gründe es so krass darzustellen. Eigentlich geht es mir nicht um den Weihnachtsmann oder das Fest an sich. Im Gegenteil, es ist ein besinnliches Fest, welches man meist im Kreis seiner Liebsten verbringt. Das möchte ich auch nicht missen. Es gibt aber etwas, was mir die Vorfreude darauf etwas verdirbt, das ist der zwanghafte Konsum. Nun beteilige ich mich nicht daran, aber ständig wird man durch Medien und Mitmenschen daran erinnert, welch ein Stress es ist, all die Geschenke zu kaufen und überhaupt, ist ja alles sooo teuer. Leute, das nervt! Ich persönlich verschenke Sachen, die ich selbst kreiere oder die verzehrt werden können. Überhaupt bereitet es mir große Freude, Sachen selbst anzufertigen. Ich kann mich auch nicht daran erinnern, wann ich das letzte Mal so richtig Shoppen war. Das Leben kann so schön sein... 😉

In the picture above, I used a torch and an attachment to paint a graffito on the wall to mark the turn of the year. You can't do it without light painting after all. 😎
I illuminated the colourful areas with the RGB CRITTER FLASHLIGHT from ANTS ON A MELON. Even though operating the lamp is a challenge every time. You can see all the tools used in the picture below.
I already talked about the past year in my penultimate post. So all that remains for me now is to wish you a happy new year 2024. I'll be back here on HIVE next Sunday. So stay tuned!
Im Bild oben malte ich mit Hilfe einer Taschenlampe und einem Aufsatz ein Graffito zum Jahreswechsel an die Wand. Ganz ohne Lightpainting geht es eben doch nicht. 😎
Die Bunten Bereiche beleuchtete ich mit der Ameisenlampe. Auch wenn die Bedienung jedes mal eine Herausforderung darstellt. Alle eingesetzten Tools seht ihr im Bild unten.
Auf das zurückliegende Jahr bin ich bereits in meinem vorletzten Post eingegangen. Also bleibt mir jetzt nur, euch einen guten Rutsch ins Jahr 2024 zu wünschen. Ich melde mich hier auf HIVE am nächsten Sonntag wieder. Also bleibt dran!
What Is Light Painting?
Light painting is a unique art form. As a rule, the darkness is illuminated by the artist with various light sources and traces of light are painted into the picture with various lighting tools. Various techniques are used, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. When using ND filters, this technique can also be used in daylight. All images were taken during a single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cropping and possibly adjusting the white balance, the images are not processed on the computer.
Lichtmalerei ist eine einzigartige Kunstform. In der Regel wird die Dunkelheit mit diversen Lichtquellen vom Künstler ausgeleuchtet und Lichtspuren mit diversen Lichtwerkzeugen ins Bild gemalt. Dabei kommen verschiedene Techniken zum Einsatz, wie Kamerarotation oder andere Bewegungen der Kamera während der Belichtung. Die kreativen Möglichkeiten sind nahezu unbegrenzt. Bei Einsatz von ND-Filtern kann diese Technik auch bei Tageslicht angewand werden. Alle Bilder wurden während einer einzigen Belichtung aufgenommen. Abgesehen vom Entrauschen, Schärfen, Beschneiden und eventuellem Anpassen des Weißabgleichs werden die Bilder nicht am Computer bearbeitet.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! Friend @candelart... We have (partly) turned Christmas into something "insanely stressful"... I have my own way of "damage limitation" and I try to spend these days with my family without getting too involved in excessive consumerism and social commitment!... Nice cover photo hahaha :)))... A bit crazy, but pretty good!... And as always, your work "painting with light" excellent!... Have a happy new year, may your 2024 be of good things and lots of health!
