Aurora Borealis?

Aurora Borealis

This was not on my bingo card today

Aurora Borealis serbia.jpg

I went out to park the car in and i saw that the sky is reddish, and it should not be red at midnight.
Than i remembered seeing on Twitter that all electric devices will die today because the sun exploded (or something like that)

So back into the house, looking for tripod and the damn tripod plate. Is it just me who can never remember where did i put the tripod plate?

And a quick test shot showed this. Interesting, didn't expect to see Northern lights in Serbia.

Aurora Borealis banat.jpg

Decided to go out from the town, to move away from light pollution, at least the direct one.

Aurora Borealis europe.jpg

I think i was a bit late for the main event. You could see it with bare eyes, it was interesting but not spectacular. Setting the camera for long exposure showed a bit more.

But to be honest, photos are ok, but time-lapse shows the real beauty of it. (hope gif loads :) )

Aurora is a scientific phenomenon, it looks beautiful and feels like a dream

The northern lights are one of those phenomena that seem so strange to me, but so beautiful at the same time. Beautiful pictures, I love them.

Real nice, my friend! It was cloudy where I am and could not see it. BTW, are we meeting in Split?

clouds got here just to cover the end of it. seen that there is a chance for another one today, but not sure.

i sure hope so. the date is not ideal for me, VAT final day is 15th. so not sure if i get there from the beginning. but i hope for at least 3 days of it. it is a 8 hour drive for me and a good opportunity to continue with vacation after it.

Got you! Fully understood, as governments don't stop for plebs. I will probably also come, but need to check the flights, as the drive would be too long. Hope we both make it!

Awesome shots and even more awesome gif. The phenomenon was visible in my country too, in most of Europe I guess. Very unusual, yeah, but really cool to witness. Thanks for sharing your captures with us :)

you probably had a better view of it as more north. was hoping for one today with some ideas, but looks like no luck.

Well, many people in my country saw the lights and even captured them nicely but I somehow forgot about it and just slept through it :D :/

Yhis looks so unreal. My father sent me a few images but yours are even more stunning. We have too much light smog to see these phenomena.

you are more north so it was probably better in a place where you could see it. strange to see it here.

Even not as bright as in more northern countries, I would still love to see one. Missed it when I visited Iceland, but trying to see them again is still on my list! Cheers! !BEER
