Minnow
Apparently I am now a "Minnow" on Hive. I'm not really sure what that means, I think I have achieved a certain level, and I know there are other levels with equally fishy names. But as I don't still really understand Hive, I don't really know the importance (or lack of importance) being a minnow brings.
I understand so little about how Hive works, I tend to use it as I would any social media. Albeit one that earns me money. I don't understand how to grow my engagement, I don't know how to find interesting people with interesting posts, and tend to look at curated posts to check out what other people are posting.
I don't understand how some people have not posted anything for four or five years yet seem to have high profiles and large following. Some people literally just seem to re-blog posts. I can't grasp it at all.
That's not stopping me from posting. I actually really like the ambience on Hive. It is such a friendlier place than any other form of Social Media I have or am currently using. I have been able to follow some incredibly interesting people (and more importantly for me) view some excellent photography.
I would like to thank people that have given support/advice/comments so far during my time here on this platform. And I would welcome any advice anytime.
PS: Oh and apologies for the pics, I have a very limited selection of fish images,
About me:
I can mostly be found shooting models, aviation, motorsports and, when I can, wildlife. But I enjoy most aspects of photography. You can find more of my work on the links below.

Those titles like the little fish only indicate the work you have done on the net, I just think, they will give you many other adjectives as you work. The views in the sea water are very good. Keep going. Many of us do not fully understand the mechanism of this reaction.
@redactor1918 many thanks.
It's Castleberry from the community account. If i remember correctly, everyone starts out as plankton.... then goes to minnow, then dolphin then whale. It's based on how much Hive you have powered up as your stake. I remember when i first started i wanted to be a dolphin. I finally made it there (not that fishy titles means much) but... i saw and awed over the accounts that had that kind of stake. Of course, i could have grown my own account by posting more personally, but i'm always too busy for community things that my own growth has suffered for it. I started before this community account and the account has a higher rep than i do. hahaha
You are right on about this place being more pleasant than other social medias. You are also right on with your approach of checking out the curated stuff and picking out what you like to support and build a network with. The more you make connections, that faster things happen. Ultimately, time is the true test of where to find and give value back here. I think you are doing a great job... but it's a grind like all things in life. Cheers
@castleberry / @badge-696969 thank you so much. That does sort of clarify a few things. And thank you so very much for all of your support. It is hugely appreciated
You are not a new user, but you can check out a couple of posts i made to help people understand the unspoken rules and stuff to help you get more traction here on Hive. Enjoy, when you get some time.
