Got my Sakura Moment in the Shared Gardens - Spring is Here !

With this beautiful morning sun, with whom else could I have had an appointment but with this beautiful cherry tree in full bloom ? Hi everyone, I hope you are having a good weekend :) In this article you will find many pictures of this cherry tree (Sakura) but also some other updates about our future garden.

As it's a lot of images and mostly photographs that I'm sharing today, you'll understand why I'm sharing in #PhotographyLovers first and foremost... although I'm thinking of sharing in #HiveGarden as well of course !

I may as well tell you from the start that this spring clearing didn't last very long, but I was still able to enjoy it for a while... at least to photograph this tree and a few other plants from all angles ! In our little urban shared gardens, things seem to be settling down a bit and it looks like we'll still be able to garden for this season.

As for the house, it's taking quite a long time and it will be more towards the summer that we'll finally have the keys... If it's not the apocalypse by then ^^ ! For all that, you'll see at the end of the article, we're slowly starting to plan some operations, but we're not going to kid ourselves: there's a world of difference between making a garden plan without being on site and the real version of it.

But that doesn't mean we can't learn about many things. Plant associations, sowing and grafting techniques for fruit trees, water management, earthworks and other in-depth modifications of the terrain. And it doesn't stop us from dreaming about what comes next, when, barefoot in the garden, we can finally roll up our sleeves and get to work in a real situation !

This morning, as soon as the rain started, I left the gardens and went to print the plans I made. To get to this rendering, there were a few more steps. To summarize this one, I took a screenshot of the terrain on a satellite map, all after measuring the contours. This gave me an idea of the scale.

After that, I just opened Illustrator and put that screenshot in a layer and on another layer, so I put the property outlines with the metric data. Pretty simple, right ?

For the next bit, I think we'll get down to drawing the areas and then I think I'll do a digital version, still continuing on the same file. Not to hide anything from you, but I think you've already understood, I really love doing this :) Even if my test below is not the most convincing ^^ !

Avec ce beau soleil matinal, avec qui aurais-je pu avoir rendez-vous sinon avec ce beau cerisier en fleur ? Bonjour à tous, j’espère que vous passez un bon weekend :) Dans cet article vous trouverez de nombreuses images de ce cerisier (Sakura) mais aussi quelques autres mises à jour par rapport à notre futur jardin. Comme c’est beaucoup d’images et surtout des photographies que je partage aujourd’hui, vous comprendrez pourquoi je partage dans #PhotographyLovers avant tout… même si je pense à partager aussi dans #HiveGarden bien entendu !

Autant vous le dire dès le début, cette éclaircie printanière n’a pas duré très longtemps, mais j’ai tout de même pu en profiter un moment suffisant... au moins pour photographier cet arbre et quelques autres plantes sous toutes les coutures ! Dans nos petits jardins partagés urbains, situation semble se décanter un peu et il semblerait que nous allons pouvoir quand même jardiner pour cette saison.

Du côté de la maison, cela prends pas mal de temps et ce sera plus vers l’été que nous aurons enfin les clefs... Si ce n’est pas l’apocalypse d’ici là ^^ ! Pour autant, vous le verrez en fin d’article, nous nous mettons doucement à planifier quelques opérations, mais on ne va pas se faire d’illusion : entre faire un plan de jardin sans être sur place et la version réelle de celui-ci, il y a un monde.

Mais ça n’empêche pas de se renseigner sur de multiples choses. Les associations de plantes, les techniques de semis et de greffe d’arbres fruitiers, la gestion de l’eau, les terrassements et autres modifications du terrain en profondeur. Et puis cela n’empêche surtout pas de rêver à la suite, aux moments où, pieds nus dans le jardin, nous pourrons enfin nous retrousser les manches et nous mettre à l’ouvrage en situation réelle !

Ce matin, dès qu’a commencé à tomber la pluie, j’ai quitté les jardins et je suis allé imprimer les plans que j’ai réalisés. Pour arriver à ce rendu, il y aura eu quelques autres étapes. Pour vous résumer celle-ci, j’ai pris une capture d’écran du terrain sur une carte satellite, le tout après avoir mesuré les contours. Cela m’a donné une idée de l’échelle.

Après cela, je n’ai eu qu’à ouvrir Illustrator et à mettre cette capture d’écran en calque et sur un autre, j’ai donc reporté les contours de la propriété avec les données métriques. Plutôt simple, non ?

Pour la suite, je pense que nous allons nous mettre à dessiner les zones et ensuite je pense que je ferai une version numérique, toujours en continuant sur le même fichier. Pour ne rien vous cacher, mais je pense que vous l’aurez déjà compris, j’adore vraiment faire cela :) Même si mon test ci-dessous n’est pas des plus convainquant ^^ !
