Our Performance in St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City
Now that the canonization of the first two Venezuelan saints in the Vatican has passed, we continue celebrating with music and Eucharistic celebrations. This video courtesy of Venevisión that you can see above is a small piece of what was sung at the thanksgiving mass by José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles in St. Peter's Basilica, the largest and most impressive church that I think I will see in my life. You can't be at a mass here and stop looking up and get lost among so many artistic and architectural details, and it was a special moment for the following reason...
Ya pasada la canonización de los primeros dos santos venezolanos en el Vaticano, seguimos celebrando con música y celebraciones eucarísticas. Este video cortesía de Venevisión que pueden ver arriba es un pedacito de lo que se cantó en la misa de acción de gracias por José Gregorio Hernández y Carmen Rendiles en la Basílica de San Pedro, la iglesia más grande e imponente que creo que veré en mi vida. No puedes estar en una misa aquí y dejar de levantar la mira hacia arriba y perderte entre tantos detalles artísticos y arquitectónicos, además fue un momento especial por el siguiente motivo...
In this place only the organ plays, they are very strict with that, and yet, they gave the choir and the orchestra the opportunity to make the music for this celebration, right under the organ. A mass entirely in Spanish and with hundreds of Venezuelan attendees. It was very early, I think the voices were not awake 100%, but I hear this Ave Verum Corpus by Mozart in the video, and I see that things went well. This day, after the canonization, many things happened here in Rome; We had the opportunity to participate in a papal audience and still had one more concert in the evening. If we are not working then we are getting to know the city, so yes, one of these days we will be able to sleep 😬 but today it won't be 🙏🏽
En este lugar solo toca el órgano, son muy estrictos con eso, y aún así, le dieron la oportunidad al coro y a la orquesta de hacer la música para esta celebración, justo debajo del órgano. Una misa totalmente en español y con cientos de asistentes venezolanos. Fue muy temprano, creo que las voces no estaban despiertas 100%, pero escucho este Ave Verum Corpus de Mozart en el video, y veo que las cosas salieron bien. Este día, después de la canonización pasaron muchas cosas aquí en Roma; tuvimos oportunidad de participar en una audiencia papal y aún así tuvimos un concierto más en la noche. Si no estamos trabajando entonces estamos conociendo la ciudad, así que sí, algún día de estos podremos dormír 😬 pero hoy no será 🙏🏽

Jajaja, sí, yo estaba como loco, demasiado por ver. Lo único es que hay que tratar de no perderse del grupo nunca, especialmente si no tienes línea telefónica, como me pasó a mí, no me podía separar de mi chica 😅 ¡Que gran experiencia!. Dígame cuando cantábamos Venezuela y Alma Llanera, las lágrimas de los migrantes me hacían llorar al instante 😭
Wow sir, it is really good to listen to this music, because the sounds are really melodious and pleasant to the ear and for the artistic and architectural details, I in particular am lost because the are so good and wonderfully make especially the Golden architectural design you make your picture from. It really impressive me and the are all good.

There will be time to sleep, but honestly, to soak up Rome and all its beauty, there are never enough hours in the day. I think that's what happened to me. Jajajajaja, y eso que esta es de las mejores fotos jajajaja. Todo el fin de semana de la canonización nos acostábamos pasada la media noche y teníamos que estar en el Vaticano en la madrugada, y cuando había tiempo libre era para ir a turistear 🤣 imagínate nuestras voces 😅 pero gracias a Dios todo salió bien, mientras pasaba la misa íbamos calentando... Escribiré muchos posts de este viaje 😉
