The morning wrapped me in a blanket of warmth and moisture. It was nearly 15 degrees already. I pedaled my way to Jungfernheide, my usual escape when the city on sundays. There, I walked a quiet loop, steady and soothing, before settling on the island by the water. Breathing deep, I sank into a short but sharp meditation. Just as my thoughts cleared, a swan family glided in, parents proud and peaceful, trailing the season’s first fluffy cygnets like little boats. I hadn’t seen swan babies yet this year, but now I had. And of course, I brought them back for you, in story and photos.
Der Morgen hüllte mich in eine Decke aus Wärme und Feuchtigkeit. Es waren schon fast 15 Grad. Ich fuhr mit dem Rad zur Jungfernheide, meinem Rückzugsort an Sonntagen. Dort lief ich eine ruhige Runde, gleichmäßig und gelassen, bevor ich mich auf der Insel am Wasser niederließ. Ich atmete tief, versank in eine kurze, aber klare Meditation. Genau als meine Gedanken ruhig wurden, tauchte eine Schwanenfamilie auf, stolze Eltern, friedlich gleitend, mit den ersten flauschigen Küken des Jahres im Schlepptau. Ich hatte noch keine Schwanenbabys gesehen dieses Jahr. Aber jetzt schon. Und natürlich habe ich sie euch mitgebracht, in dieser Geschichte und in Bildern.
