Recovery Day 24 - HPUD & more... my training diary entry from June 30 2026

(I photographed the two coots last Saturday when we were looking to cool off by the lake after a walk in the heat. The birds were surely glad to have cool water beneath them, too.)

Hi Actifitters,

yesterday, between running errands and doing housework, I managed to clock up over 11,000 steps. Otherwise, there’s nothing to report regarding physical activity. Naturally, Actifit has once again failed to count many of my steps.

To challenge myself a bit, I started "Mission 80" yesterday. Since I haven't been paying enough attention to my diet over the past few months—and have said "yes" to beer far too often—my weight has climbed from just under 80 kg to 90 kg. Yesterday, I initiated a turnaround and want to get back to 80 kg. I’m not putting myself under any pressure, though; there is no deadline for reaching this goal. I simply want the process to be gradual, healthy, and sustainable.

Mission 80 (Day 1 = 90.0 kg / Goal = 80.0 kg)

Of course, I participated in HPUD again and have just powered up 560 Hive.

Thanks to my almost daily PowerUps, my account has now grown to 21,843 HP.

I’ve planned an upper-body workout for today. Unfortunately, I can’t do any more than that right now, as I’m still dealing with my tennis injury. You have no idea how much I’m looking forward to the day I can train intensely again.

    Good luck with the losing weight mission! Do you track your fat & muscle mass? I think muscle mass is heavier than fat, so if you train a lot during that time, you might lose weight slower than you'd think :-D

    I have a Garmin body fat scale, but honestly, I don't feel the readings are reliable. Still, I use it to keep my data up to date in Garmin. Ultimately, though, weighing 80 kilos isn't really the point for me; I’d much rather just be happy with my physique in the end.

    That makes sense! I see it the same. Feeling good within oneself is the goal :-);

    That's a good goal for losing weight. I hope you achieve it. It's not easy, but with discipline... You can do it! 🤩🥳
