Sprint session, bike cleaning and 10 k HP... my training diary entry from February 3 2026

(This photo was taken on Saturday shortly before the end of my 54-kilometer walk. I actually wanted to discard the picture because it was very dark and unfortunately not sharp, but with the color boost it looks kind of cool.)

Hi Actifitters,

hope you are doing well. I am fine and looking back to yesterdays intense and nice sprint session.
Although I hadn't slept very well again that night, I felt strong. Nevertheless, I refrained from setting any new records or anything like that and simply completed a solid training session on the bike.

The session was structured as following:

20 minutes warm-up at 140 watts
16 x 0:10 at 360 watts (twenty seconds recovery between each interval at 70 watts)
5 minutes recovery at 120 watts
16 x 0:10 at 360 watts (twenty seconds recovery between each interval at 70 watts)
15 minutes cool-down at 115 watts

And here are my sprint session numbers:

Duration - 0:55:21
Distance - 37.53 km
Average speed - 40.7 km/h
Maximum speed - 63.1 km/h
Average power output - 135 watts
Maximum power output - 361 watts
Average heart rate - 134 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 173 bpm
Average cadence - 106
Maximum cadence - 168

Later that day, I disassembled my bike from the smart trainer and cleaned everything a bit before taking it all to the bike shop. I'm really looking forward to a hopefully perfectly functioning setup.

Since my bike is being repaired, training is cancelled today.


With my power-up yesterday, I broke through the magical 10k HP border. I'm curious to see where this journey will lead.

I have to admit it's tough to stay motivated, since there really doesn't seem to be much going on here on the chain. But giving up isn't an option for now. After all, you can't just give up every time things don't go as planned.

Ist im Moment wirklich nicht viel Los hier, aber es gibt immer wieder solche Phasen. Aber das wird schon noch irgendwann drehen (hoffentlich).
