I have to confess that the rainy months aren't exactly my favorite. In fact, what I like most about our annual rainy season are precisely: "The moments when it doesn't rain" 😑... And precisely this week, it seems the rains have started in earnest here, and it rained all night. It only eased up a bit at dawn, but around 11:00 AM it started pouring again. And although during the brief dry spell I was able to go out and take care of some pending matters; The truth is that for practically the entire afternoon I was "trapped inside the house thanks to the persistent rain," and the truth is that my mood gradually soured, until I ended up sitting in an armchair in our dining room watching the rain fall in our backyard, while ruminating on a bunch of inappropriate things directed at the tropical climate and its and what for me are "insufferable quirks" 😂... Finally, around 5:00 PM the rain stopped and some sunlight was able to reach the surface. And by that time, I was so bored and eager to move around that I immediately grabbed my camera and went out to take some macro photos in the garden and backyard of our house... But the truth is, I took these photos with a bit of anger, or rather, with an urgent need to vent, so I snapped 180 photos in a flash, and shortly after, as it was starting to get really dark, I found myself editing these photographs with almost the same impulsiveness with which I had captured them just moments before... And yes, what should have been a handful of colorful macro photos of flowers and plants ended up becoming—in my opinion, at least—an eloquent monochromatic series, full of abstraction, grain, contrasts, vignettes, textures, and drama characteristic of that "necessary exorcism" after an afternoon watching the incessant rain...

Tengo que confesar que los meses de lluvias no son precisamente mis favoritos. De hecho, lo que más me gusta de nuestra temporada anual de lluvias son precisamente: "Los momentos en los que no llueve" 😑... Y precisamente, esta semana al parecer han comenzado seriamente las lluvias aquí, y llovió durante toda la noche, y apenas al amanecer cesó un poco la lluvia, pero ya cerca de las 11:00 AM comenzó a llover copiosamente de nuevo. Y aunque durante el breve lapso sin lluvias pude salir a las calles y cumplir con algunos compromisos pendientes; lo cierto es durante prácticamente toda la tarde estuve "secuestrado dentro de casa gracias a la persistente lluvia", y la verdad es que mi humor se fue enturbiando paulatinamente, hasta que terminé sentado en una poltrona de nuestro comedor observando la lluvia caer en nuestro patio trasero, mientras rumiaba un montón de cosas inapropiadas dirigidas al clima tropical y sus y lo que para mi son "insoportables manías" 😂... Finalmente, cerca de las 5:00 PM la lluvia paró y un algo de luz solar pudo alcanzar la superficie. Y para ese momento era tal mi tedio y ganas de moverme un poco qué, de inmediato tomé mi cámara y salí a hacer algunas fotos macro en el jardín y el patio trasero de nuestra casa... Pero lo cierto es que hice estas fotos con un poco de rabia, ó más bien con una urgente necesidad de desahogo, así que disparé 180 fotos en un santiamén y poco después, cuando ya comenzaba a oscurecer definitivamente, me encontraba editando estas fotografía casi con la misma impulsividad con la que las había capturado poco antes... Y sí, lo que debió ser un puñado de macro-fotos coloridas de flores y plantas; terminó convirtiéndose -a mi juicio, cuando menos- en una elocuente serie monocromática, repleta de abstracción, grano, contrastes, viñetas, texturas y drama propios de ese "exorcismo necesario" después de una tarde observando la incesante lluvia...
