The streets in my head are just a brief collection of moments, a fleeting "something" that will never be repeated. That's where I like to look, and therefore capture what happens there as I wander through them with my old camera and a handful of equally old lenses. And every time I put together a collection of photos like these, it's a bit like saying, "This is me, and this is how I see streets." And it's not always the street itself, but sometimes something small happening on its edges or even on the ground, or perhaps above, it doesn't matter; this is a diverse and pulsating world, which has helped me learn to think (or even "not to think") the way I do now. And its remnant, its product, what results after the introspective process; these are the images that speak of how and when I saw at a given moment... All this leads me to think that I take photos not for the photos themselves, but for who I am in the midst of doing this... Perhaps anyone who sets their mind to it can find a space and a method for being. I suppose some people paint, others write, or meditate, or make music, and so on. But I simply take photographs...

Las calles en mi cabeza, son apenas un breve compendio de momentos, un "algo" pasajero que no volverá a repetirse. Entonces es allí en donde me gusta mirar, y por ende robar lo que allí sucede mientras voy a través de ellas con mi vieja cámara y un puñado de también viejos lentes. Y cada vez que hago una recopilación de fotos como estas, es un poco como decir "esta soy yo y así es como veo calles". Y no siempre es la calle en sí, sino que algunas veces es algo pequeño sucediendo en sus orillas o incluso en el piso, o quizás en lo alto, no importa; este es un mundo variopinto y pulsante, el cual me ha servido para aprender a pensar (o incluso a "no pensar") como hago ahora. Y su remanente, su producto, lo que resulta después del proceso introspectivo; son estas imágenes que hablan de como y cuando yo vi en un momento dado... Todo esto me lleva a pensar que, hago fotos no por las fotos mismas, sino por quien soy en medio de estar haciendo esto... Quizás todo aquel que se lo propone, consigue hacerse con un espacio y un método para ser. Supongo que algunos pintan, otros escriben, o meditan, o hacen música y así en más. Pero yo, simplemente hago fotos...

And now in verticals, because that's how my street world is; it can function and speak horizontally, but also vertically. And even, as I like to say: "In awkward squares that are neither one nor the other," but today at least, this will be horizontal and vertical only...

Y ahora en verticales, porque mi mundo callejero es así; puede funcionar y hablar en horizontales, pero también en verticales. E incluso, como me gusta decir: "En incomodos cuadrados que no son ni lo uno ni lo otro", pero hoy cuando menos, serán horizontales y verticales únicamente...
