It's curious, but the fog hadn't descended on the town's streets for several weeks. It just hovered up there, hesitant and unwilling to come down and seep into the nooks and crannies of the streets and houses... This is a town whose very name is related to fog, as Montalbán comes from the Latin montem albanum, meaning "white mountains," and it's said that the town's founders named the place after the frequent fog that blanketed the valley and mountains. So, when we have too many mornings without fog here, it's even a topic of concern and conversation among the townspeople... For all these reasons, it's no wonder that today, when I went out to explore the streets of the nearby neighborhoods with my camera; As people passed by, they said things like, "The fog's finally back!" or "Montalbán really woke up looking beautiful today!" One person even said when they saw me, "I knew you'd be out taking pictures in the streets today, because when it's foggy like this, you never miss it!" 😂 My neighbors sure know me well!

For my part, when the fog is like this, clinging to the streets and creeping in slowly, I can't help but remember my childhood, especially when my mother would take me by the hand to school and the fog was so thick that it often dripped on my face. Then a thousand made-up stories would run through my head; from people on horseback emerging from the fog, to ghosts, witches, and things like that... Who would have thought that 50 years later I'd still be imagining things in these foggy streets...

Es curioso, pero la niebla tenía varias semanas sin descender hasta las calles del pueblo. Tan solo se le veía posada allí arriba, como indecisa y sin querer bajar y meterse por los recovecos de las calles y lasa casas... Este es un pueblo cuyo nombre incluso, tiene que ver con la niebla, pues Montalbán viene del latín montem albanum que quiere decir "montañas blancas" y se dice que los fundadores del pueblo llamaron así el lugar por la frecuente presencia de niebla que cubría el valle y las montañas. Así que cuando aquí tenemos demasiadas mañanas sin niebla, eso es incluso un tema de preocupación y conversación entre los habitantes del pueblo... Por todo esto, no es de extrañarse que hoy, cuando salí a recorrerlas calles de los vecindarios cercanos con mi cámara; las personas al pasar me dijesen cosas como: "finalmente volvió la neblina" o "hoy si amaneció Montalbán sabroso", incluso hubo una persona que me dijo al verme: "yo sabía que tú ibas a andar tomando fotos por las calles hoy, porque cuando amanece así con neblina, nunca te lo pierdes" 😂 ¡Vaya que sí me concen bien mis vecinos!...

Yo por mi parte, cuando la niebla está así, metida por las calles y avanzando con parsimonia; no hago más que recordar mis años de niño, especialmente cuando mi madre me llevaba de la mano hacia la escuela y la niebla era tan densa que con frecuencia empapaba mi rostro el rocío. Entonces por mi cabeza pasaban mil fabulas inventadas; desde personas a caballo emergiendo entre la niebla, hasta espantos, brujas y cosas por el estilo... Quien diría que 50 años después yo seguiría, como hoy, imaginando cosas entre estas calles con niebla...
