IN THE LAST DAYS OF AUGUST 2015
The days were sunny, the summer was still hot, and I was mostly outdoors during that period. In today's post, I'll show you some stuff I photographed back then, in the last days of August 2015. Have a good viewing.
I created this opening GIF last late night, using three shots taken on the 30th of August 2015 in the coastal area about four or five kilometers from the village of Shishan.
Here you can see two airborne people attached to the yellow parachute-like thing ...
... pulled by a small speedboat.
Today, while preparing the post, I learned that the type of recreational summer activity shown in these photographs is called parasailing. The rounded parasail wing looked like a big flying jellyfish.
This and the previous parasailing-related photographs were taken on the same day as those used in the opening GIF but the place is different. The coastal are shown here ...
... is called Marlera.
The place is situated a couple of kilometers from the village of Liznjan.
This small butterfly from the Hesperiidae family was also photographed there.
Pyrgus carthami is the name of the species.
Here you can see a mating pair of Spilostethus pandurus, bugs from the Lygaeidae family.
Late last night, I used this old shot to play a bit with the colors in Photoshop. The intention was to turn the familiar scenery into an alien landscape.
I have more photographs from Marlera, but right now ...
... I wanna show you three shots from my hometown ...
... taken on the 29th of August. Some kind of summer fair was going on in the park near the harbor and the seaside promenade. The weather was warm. the beer was cold, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.
I took one of those happy evening shots and changed it in Photoshop to add a bit of diversity.
Here you can see me picking the plums in my garden earlier that day.
With this photograph Im in Marlera again ...
... and the date is the 30th of August. Again.
As the seawater rapidly evaporates from the small, shallows pools on the rocks in the intertidal zone ...
... it leaves beautiful salt formations behind.
I mean, they look great if you have the patience to take an up-close look and explore the small details.
Seen from a distance, they are just white patches on the gray or brown rocks.
Here you can see a feather trapped in the salt. The feather probably belonged to a seagull.
Some of those salty shapes were very elegant.
I can observe these and similar things for hours. Especially when I get mesmerized by the strong midday sun.
You can see another feather incrusted with salt in this shot.
Here you can take a monochrome look at the intertidal salt for a change.
This photograph was taken from the balcony of my house. People used to explore the big communal garbage cans in the hope to find the precious plastic bottles.
On the 31st of August, In Marlera, I came across something that looked like a big floating creature made of nylon. I mean, is more like the thing has come across me. I was laying on the rocks after a long swim...
... when I noticed the big white thing floating on the turquoise surface of the sea near the shore. It looked like some giant jellyfish from a distance.
In ten minutes or so, the thing reached the shore and ended up stranded on the rocks. I pulled it out of the water and brought it to the edge of the nearby cultivated filled covered with cabbages. The nylon probably came from there or some similar place along the coast of the bay.
I photographed the foam on that occasion as well.
The lovely bubbles caught my attention.
Here you can take an up-close look at the wet nylon.
Later that day, at home, I created this simple artwork using a photograph of the planks of an old, decaying wooden boat stranded on the lawn in the Liznjan's harbor.
On the 29th of August, a friend from Belgrade came to visit. These two photographs were taken in my living room.
In this set of four casual self-portraits, you can see me posing in my car parked by the side of a dusty unpaved road near the sea, in Marlera.
This evening shot was taken on the same day, the 30th of August, in the same coastal area.
On the 31st of August, I spent the evening in the house of a friend that leaves in Pula, the nearest city.
This dead Pinocchio-like figure was photographed there.
The post started on the stretch of coastline four or five kilometers from the village of Shishan, and now ...
Seems like it was a real fun trip. I think I would have gotten lost admiring the crystal structures as well. 😁
Things are ordinary but the way you clicked and show us is extraordinary.
I wonder how many read the post and see all the places where your sarcasm can be found 😅🤣. I absolutely love the casual conversation style, it's more engaging.
Cool bubbles you got there. Have you ever found some of the precious plastic bottles? Marlera looks like a cool place to be, very relaxing and zenny. And I've always been interested in the place names, it's way cooler than ours. My home town is called Bloemfontein... it sounds so silly.
And who killed Pinocchio!?

I like that name a lot. Bloemfontein. It has the right dose of silliness. 🙂

very cool image display. have a good day friends.
Lots of interesting photos. The old days seemed to be filled with good time, friendship, adventure and playful moments.
You looked like a floating guru on water! 😂
That was really like 8 years ago
Are you meditating in the sea? Hehe.
😂 I'm practicing shallow mindfulness in the shallows.

I love the gif at the beginning! The surroundings seems like a good place to engage in meditative practices.
The coastal area is my favourite place during summer :)
This type of insect marriage looks very unique, they attach the ends of their bodies to produce offspring.
Nice gif...i also have paracelling experience, it was too much fun:-)
All the pictures in this post grabbed my attention, they all are interesting, especially the ones in which people were parasailing. I really want to do it. but there are very less opportunities like this in my country. I have a plan to visit the northern areas of my country to experience this. Glad to know that you have your own plum tree, we have to buy it from the Bazar on the weekly basis.
El captar el apareamiento de los insectos fue muy genial y creativo de tu parte me encantó esa toma
Cómo me gustaría lanzarme en paracaídas jejeje.

The opening GIF looks like you're dancing pretty randomly which looks very interesting ha ha...
😀
So many photos in so few days! How nice that the photos allow us to treasure and preserve the good moments. I really liked the photos by the sea.
Cheers
Honestly, even if you don't tell us that it was sunny, it shows clearly in the picture that it was very sunny
The pictures are so lovely and nice
Maybe you have reached your perfect Kama , a seaside full of Zen you might say! LOL 😊
😀
A very entertaining post and ideal for relaxing for a while and... That "yoga-like" pose of yours is already something iconic!... ha ha ha :))
