Ray through the leaves - Phone Photography Contest - #112

This morning, while walking past the orange tree in the compound, I noticed how a single ray of sunlight slipped gently through the branches and through the leaves like gold dust. The whole tree seemed to glow and even the oranges hanging from the branches looked nice, beaming through the morning light.

The air was still cool, cos it rained the day before and the world had not fully woken up yet. Most people were still asleep cos everywhere was just cool. The birds were making faint noises somewhere nearby, i tried to get pictures of the birds but the leaves had obstructed them and i couldn't get a good shot. Standing there, I realized how easy it is to miss simple things like that when life becomes too busy or noisy. We rush through mornings thinking about responsibilities, and worries , it pays to take a moments walk and just soak it all in.
