Phone Photography Contest #70 (Catching A Rainbow 🌈)

(Edited)

We finally got the sun catcher film up on the windows of our RV...

When I first saw this decoration, I was mesmerized... The idea is simple enough. The sun's rays get caught in the geometrical patterns, and are refracted onto the walls as rainbows. This pattern is known as "stained glass," as one could probably guess!

We plan on putting this film up in the kitchen, in our daughters' bunk bed area, and the large viewing window will be half done as well. I think it will be so cool to catch a bunch of rainbows while we're driving, flashes of color adorning the walls...

Our little girls absolutely love it πŸ₯° They watched the whole time that mommy and daddy were putting it up. We haven't been able to see the full effects yet, given that our windows are pretty low. We will have to wait until sunrise or sunset to fully enjoy!

Those were my three main photos for this week's contest, but I just want to quickly include some photos of our family RV!

So, this is our 1982 Glendale RV! πŸ™ For over a year now, my husband and I (although primarily my husband) have been repairing and improving this vehicle. Originally, it would not start, and just a few days ago, my husband finally managed to get it going πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ
It has been a true test of faith and patience, but I am beyond proud of my husband... From knowing nothing about cars, to bringing a 40-year-old RV back from the grave. He is an incredible man!

When we first purchased our RV, the interior was all white. The previous owners had painted over all of the wood panels! So, we stripped off all of the paint, brought the wood back, and painted it in vibrant colors. I painted that door in front of you, the orange with blue circles. We plan on painting the other door in reverse: blue with orange circles.
We put in a purple "shag" carpet (not genuine), and have been adding a bunch of personal touches since (artwork, photographs, religious items, etc.).

My husband, relaxing and admiring his work πŸ˜„ He had just finished putting in the lights on this day: two strips of LED rainbow lights. He also put in a nice wood burning stove, and covered that area with ceramic tile.

Finally, this is our kitchen area. My husband added a lovely wooden cover to the countertop. He also installed these gorgeous steampunk lights; they're meant to look like a pipe with running water. We have thought about putting blue light bulbs in to fit the theme.

Anyway, that is it for today's post πŸ™ Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out! I wish everybody luck, and please have a fantastic weekend πŸ‘‹

Your husband did incredible bringing the 40-year-old RV back to life. You both worked as a team to give it a new and more beautiful look too.

Ugh, that's a veteran. I used to have a van about ten years ago when the kids were small.

So many wonderful memories to be made; we're really looking forward to it. My husband and I have discussed the older nature of our RV, and we've decided it's better to go old school. Pretty soon the government will only be allowing electric car sales....
