Paris 16 - In the upscale Passy neighborhood (Part 1)

Once an independent village perched above the Seine, Passy has kept its old-world charm while becoming one of the most upscale neighborhoods in the capital since it was annexed to Paris in 1860.
With its quiet alleys, private mansions, views of the Eiffel Tower, and peaceful vibe, the area blends a bourgeois heritage with a village spirit.
You can still feel the presence of its famous former residents — artists, writers, scientists — who left their mark on the place.
But above all, strolling through Passy feels completely safe — which isn’t something you can say about every part of this big city.

Autrefois village indépendant niché sur les hauteurs de la Seine, Passy a conservé son charme d’antan tout en devenant l’un des quartiers les plus chics de la capitale depuis son annexion à Paris en 1860.
Entre ruelles discrètes, hôtels particuliers, vues sur la Tour Eiffel et atmosphère paisible, le quartier mélange avec élégance un héritage bourgeois et un esprit de village.
On y sent encore l’empreinte de ses illustres habitants — artistes, écrivains, savants — qui ont marqué ces lieux.
Mais surtout on y déambule en se sentant en totale sécurité ce qui n'est pas le cas partout dans cette grande cité.
