Walking Through Time in Intramuros & Rizal Park!
Hi Hive Family! 🐝
How is everyone doing? I hope you are all having a beautiful day!
Today I want to take you with me to one of my favorite places in Manila again: more from Intramuros, the historic walled city, and its surroundings. Walking here always feels like traveling back in time. You can almost hear the footsteps of our national heroes who once walked these very streets, hehe. Every corner has a story to tell, and the architecture takes you back in time.
Let me share some of my favorite moments from this visit!
In Intramuros you immediately feel the old-world charm: colorful horse-drawn kalesas waiting for tourists, and these beautifully restored colonial buildings with arched windows and warm yellow facades.
Here are the iconic walls and gates of Intramuros. Built in the 16th century by the Spanish, these fortifications protected Manila for hundreds of years. I like the stone textures of these old stairs. Those hidden corners that whisper stories from centuries ago.
Just enjoy this stunning view over Rizal Park!
And yes, I couldn't resist playing with one of the old cannons, hehe!
One of the most meaningful spots for me was the Galería de los Presidentes in Rizal Park. Here stand bronze busts and monuments of our former presidents — this one is Ramon Magsaysay, the third President of the Philippines (1953–1957). He was known as the "Champion of the Common Man" because of his humble roots and genuine care for ordinary Filipinos. Sadly, he died in a plane crash in 1957, but his legacy of integrity and closeness to the people lives on.
I also love these peaceful walking paths lined with massive old trees.
I hope these photos bring a little bit of Manila magic to your day. Thank you so much for walking with me!
Have you ever visited Intramuros or Rizal Park? What's your favorite spot?

Such a beautiful place. Although I want to experience riding a horse pero parang nakaawa silaaaaa. And theybare so small, is it really okay na humila sila ng sasakyan with more than 1 people in it? Anyways, Instramuros is like a good destination for a gala with fam or barkadas.
Yes, that is a valid question whether the traditional use of horses, pulling kalesas with often more than one person in the heat and exhaust fumes of Manila, is not harmful to the animals' health. I actually rode in one of those carriages myself. They do look beautiful, but I will think about whether I should do it again or not anymore.
Thank you a lot for curating my post, @ruffatotmeee and @hivepakistan! 😚
Beautiful buildings! It's like walking in 1600, noh? 😀

Great pictures. I feel as though I've been there after looking at these. You make a good tour guide :)
If you ever come to Manila I will be your real tour guide, hehe!
Thank you so much for your support, @ewkaw and @qurator! 😊
Did you know that in the Philippines it is legal to get arrested even without having cimmitted any crime? According to the Rules of Court, an attempt to commit a crime or offence is sufficient for an arrest. The history of corruption in the Philippiens is very long: [Philippine corruption] Diary of a Dictator -- Ferdinand Imelda The Last Days of Camelot 2/234
That has nothing to do with the post, so why do you spam here?
Greetings @gen-quimba ,
