Hello to everyone in this community and fellow cat lovers! These past few days have been quite emotional. After the earthquakes in my country, Venezuela, my gratitude that my sister's cats, Ying and Cleo, are safe is one of the things that keeps my spirits up, along with the numerous pet rescues, including many cats who are now back with their owners, in safe places, or being adopted. Of course, this has also made me grateful that my cat, Ikki, wasn't in the capital at the time of the earthquake. Cleo and Ying tried to hide inside the apartment, even though the door to the street was open, but I think Ikki would have tried to get out, and he's the kind of cat who runs until he disappears...

Thank God, the earthquakes weren't too strong in the city where Ikki lives. My boyfriend, who takes care of him, sent me some photos of Ikki sharpening his claws on one of the trees on the property. Those photos made me feel better because, although I only suffered the fright of the apartment's strong shaking, the situation of hundreds of Venezuelans hurts and worries me. Even though I try to stay positive, my mind sometimes gets stuck. So seeing Ikki so peacefully enjoying the sun made me happy.

Ikki is a very aloof cat and doesn't get along very well with the other cats in the house, so the time he spends outside is always supervised to prevent him from encountering the other felines. I love it when he goes out to sunbathe and rest in his favorite spots. I adore that he has contact with the earth and the trees, something the cats I live with don't get to do.

The last time I went (a couple of months ago), I only saw Ikki scratching the wood with his claws a couple of times, but very briefly, so receiving a short video of him doing it with great dedication filled me with gratitude, I don't know why haha. I sincerely hope that every cat is safe and that they have enough food and love 🛐

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de los gatos! Estos días han sido bastante emotivos, ya que, luego de los temblores ocurridos en mi país, Venezuela, mi agradecimiento de que los gatos de mi hermana: Ying y Cleo, estén a salvo, es una de las cosas que me mantiene los ánimos, junto a los rescates consecutivos de mascotas, entre ellos, muchos gatos que ya están de nuevo junto a sus dueños, en lugares seguros o siendo adoptados. Eso, por supuesto, me ha llevado a estar agradecida también de que mi gato Ikki, no se encontrase habitando en la capital en el momento de los acontecimientos... Cleo y Ying buscaron de ocultarse dentro del apartamento, aunque la puerta hacia la calle estaba abierta, pero yo creo que Ikki sí hubiera buscado de salir y él, es de los que corre hasta desaparecer...

Gracias a Dios, en la ciudad en donde se encuentra Ikki, los sismos no fueron tan intensos. Mi novio, quién lo cuida, me pasó unas fotografías de Ikki mientras se afilaba las garras en uno de los árboles del terreno de la casa. Esas fotografías me hicieron sentir mejor, pues, aunque no sufrí más que el susto del fuerte movimiento del apartamento, me duele y preocupa la situación de cientos de venezolanos. A pesar de que trate de mantenerme positiva, mi mente en ocasiones, se estanca. Así que ver a Ikki tan tranquilo recibiendo el sol, me hizo sentirme feliz.

Ikki es un gato muy arisco y no se lleva muy bien con el resto de los gatos que hay en esa casa, por lo que el tiempo que pasa afuera, está siempre supervisado para evitar que se encuentre con los demás felinos. A mí me encanta cuando sale a llevar sol y descansa en sus lugares favoritos. Adoro que tenga contacto con la tierra y los árboles, algo que no tienen los gatos con los que vivo.

La última vez que fui (hace un par de meses), sólo pude ver a Ikki rasgando con sus garras la madera un par de veces, pero muy poco, así que recibir un pequeño video de él, haciéndolo con mucho empeño, me llenó de gratitud, no sé por qué jaja. Espero de todo corazón que cada gato se encuentre a salvo y que no le falte alimento, ni cariño 🛐
