Brief story about two little cat siblings 😻 Breve historia de unos hermanitos felinos

A few months ago, specifically in late December, my sister found a box with four abandoned kittens near a stream. They were two sets of siblings. The older ones were adopted the next day, but the two featured in this post weren’t so lucky.

Hace unos cuantos meses, específicamente a finales de diciembre, mi hermana encontró cerca de una quebrada, una caja con cuatro gatitos abandonados. Eran dos parejas de hermanos. A los más grandes los adoptaron al día siguiente, pero los dos que protagonizan esta publicación, no tuvieron esa suerte.

There was a male and a female. Since they arrived on the very day that the famous French actress Brigitte Bardot, who was also an animal lover, passed away, I started calling the female that. As for the male, it occurred to me to name him after another French celebrity: Alain Delon. My sister thought it was funny, and we left it at that, after all, they weren’t going to stay.

Eran un macho y una hembra. Como llegaron justo el día que murió la famosa actriz francesa Brigitte Bardot, quien además era amante de los animales, empecé a llamar a la hembra así. En cuanto al macho, se me ocurrió ponerle también el nombre de otra celebridad francesa: Alain Delon. A mi hermana le pareció gracioso y lo dejamos así, total, no se iban a quedar.

January, February, and March came and went... and no one showed any interest in adopting them. Alain and Brigitte became friends with Ursula, one of the three cats in the house, and little by little they’ve settled in.

Pasó enero, febrero, marzo... y no aparecieron personas interesadas en adoptarlos. Alain y Brigitte se hicieron amigos de Úrsula, una de las tres gatas de la casa, y poco a poco se han ido integrando.

Ever since they arrived, they’ve had a voracious appetite, so we have to be careful not to leave any food on the table because they’ll jump right in and eat it without any shame 😆.

Desde que llegaron han tenido un apetito voraz, así que tenemos que estar pendientes de no dejar comida en la mesa porque se montan a comérsela sin ninguna vergüenza 😆.

These little siblings are very close. They sleep together and spend all their time playing with each other. My sister wanted them to be adopted together, maybe that’s why she couldn’t find anyone, it’s not easy to find someone who’ll take both of them.

Estos hermanitos son muy unidos. Duermen juntos y también se la pasan jugando entre ellos. Mi hermana quería que los adoptaran juntos, quizás por eso no encontró a nadie, no es fácil que se lleven dos.

With the exception of Ursula, the other two cats aren't too fond of these little ones. They sometimes try to play or interact with them, but they're almost never welcomed... 😄

A excepción de Úrsula, a las otras dos gatas no les simpatizan mucho estos pequeños. Ellos a veces intentan jugar o socializar con ellas, pero casi nunca son bien recibidos... 😄

When they're little, kittens are always fun. All the mischief and fun things they get up to are sure to brighten your day.

Cuando son chiquitos, los gatos siempre son divertidos. La cantidad de travesuras y cosas que hacen, sin duda te alegran el día.

Well, it looks like Alain and Brigitte did find a home after all... ours 😉.

Bueno, parece que Alain y Brigitte al final sí encontraron un hogar... el nuestro 😉.
